Black stage for sure.

I remember this being posted last year and thinking it had a much better line-up. I'd go for part of it for free, but I don't think I'd pay. Basically (some of) the headlining half of the black stage.

Danzig is the only band on that line-up that I'd be able to sit through. Maybe 20 minutes of Lucero too. And I'd check out the comedy for a few. Otherwise it only looks good on paper.

Flipper?
Are you kidding me?

misson of burma, GZA and brian poshen are all I would want to see that I haven't...
but I would never want to see any of those bands in austin hipster central fest....
I just thought I would post it up for everyone else to check out

I'd almost rather go to that fest in san diego...
bigger/better bands and better weather/people

Black stage is about the only one with bands I've actually heard of. I thought Face to Face broke up?

Flipper did a tour of Australia recently. Sad times, bands should stop re-uniting.

Weird, I guess I'm the only one who sees some amazing shit listed there? I've been thinking about skipping this one since I hadn't seen anything leaked yet that really interested me, but the chance to see Fucked Up is enough reason right there. Kind of weird that Youth Brigade are playing it again, I think they're the first band I know of that's played more than one year so far. I would love to check out Jesus Lizard, Danzig could be fun, Street Dogs for sure, looks like a pretty good line up, maybe not the best they've had, but enough to make it worthwhile.

defstarsteve - 8-25-2009 at 09:58 PM

oh there are some good bands on there
but nothing enough to make me deal with a fest when you can see most of them touring on their own...
I hate fests

I normally hate fests too, but I've been to Fun Fun Fun every year so far and it hasn't had that fest feel at all. Maybe the fact that it's in a pretty huge park with the stages nowhere near each other has helped in that regard. Don't get me wrong, the stages are close enough to pop over from one to the next without needing to take a nap on the way, but they aren't overlapping or anything like that. I would say without any doubt that Fun Fun Fun is the best put together fest going right now, probably due in part to the fact that it isn't a tour and the bands all get to play decent sized sets.
