JawnDiablo - 8-28-2009 at 07:33 AM

I'm not including the live cds or best of / unreleased compilations........

clevohardcore - 8-28-2009 at 09:39 AM

So far I have to go with the self titled release.

Vanilla Gorilla - 8-28-2009 at 10:00 AM

BDx13 - 8-28-2009 at 10:07 AM

^ you definitely do.

BDx13 - 8-28-2009 at 10:08 AM

all right, who he fuck voted for 'blank'

JawnDiablo - 8-28-2009 at 10:29 AM

i didn't even mean to put blank on there....dang...edit

Discipline - 8-28-2009 at 11:15 AM

Tough choice, but I have to go with Pure Rock Fury.

tireironsaint - 8-28-2009 at 11:29 AM

Pitchfork. I absolutely LOVE that shit, the rest is all hit or miss and depends entirely on mood whether or not I can get into it at all. I will admit that the more I hear it, the better it sounds, but nothing tops that first seven incher for me.

still got that shit on vinyl!

clevohardcore - 8-28-2009 at 01:10 PM

what would that go for? Do CLUTCH release stuff on limited vinyl a lot? The packaging for the new cd is way rad I have to add. THe part that holds the cd in place is made of cork.

BDx13 - 8-28-2009 at 01:18 PM

no idea. a gold vinyl version (/200) recently went for $200.

the number of clear is unknown. between clear and black there were 500, but no one knows the exact split:

What does everyone think of BLAST TYRANT. I was on youtube and heard a song off it. They are in a bar and fights break out. I think the guys from jackass are in it. Same with Mike V. HTe song jams a lot. Is the whole record along those lines.

BDx13 - 8-28-2009 at 01:50 PM

i don't listen to that album much, so i can't say.
but that bar is (was, actually) called Rex's, right in between where juan, thorp and i live.

BDx13 - 8-28-2009 at 01:54 PM

neil looks sick with that beard.

youz know his sister is the chick on Ace of Cakes, right?

JawnDiablo - 8-28-2009 at 02:11 PM

I have a friend who has nearly every Clutch thing created.
Used to jam witht he guy 3 times a week.
Bastard moved to LA and I haven't played since.
He is the main dude on pro-rock.com (Smitty) who contributed alot of the audio/video footage, that i dont know if it is still up or not....

DAK - 8-28-2009 at 02:22 PM

clevohardcore - 8-28-2009 at 02:37 PM

I'll probably grab pure rock fury when I trade in some cd's tonight. I need some new tunes while hanging drywall tomorrow.

JawnDiablo - 8-28-2009 at 02:40 PM

i dig preetty much all of their stuff except for beale st and robot hive.
maybe if i gave them another good listen i would change my mind.
i popped in impetus today and was like goddamn! it just sounded great to me driving in.

defstarsteve - 8-28-2009 at 03:10 PM

ha juan know you smittybuilt
I was on pro rock for years...
but moved on a long time ago...
got to childish for me...

everything pure rock fury and back is gold to me...
the progression is perfect...
after that it seems the hook is missing for me...

I'll try to give the new ones another shot but it's highly unlikey to change

JawnDiablo - 8-28-2009 at 05:07 PM

smitty is a greaty drummer.
he's out there in LA somewhere

I've still got the vinyl too, but mine is just on black. Love that record and still clearly remember the show where I saw them before I had ever even heard their name before and bought that record. That was some insane and intense shit that night.

clevohardcore - 8-29-2009 at 03:22 PM

Not into transnational....

Sounds too forced.

defstarsteve - 8-29-2009 at 10:58 PM

you started at the wrong end of the discography...
you gotta understand they were 20 year old kids who were into hardcore and could barely play a note
but were doing their own thing
and evolved into more of the funk jam thing...
I read an old guitar mag interview with tim when space came out and there were like why don't you do solos
and he said flat out
I can't I suck at guitar... but he kept playing like 8 hours a day even on tour and learned how to play....

you just have to see them live... the show is all neil and JP the drummer...
tim and dan are great guys but I have seen wallpaper move more in a 1 hour period

JawnDiablo - 8-29-2009 at 11:12 PM

^
you started at the wrong end of the discography...
exactly
I heard them from the beginning and experienced the progression.
me, my son, and my girlfriend were driving today listening to elephant riders and i even said somthing to the affect of the progression.
start with pitchfork and work forward
the difference between transnational and the clutch s/t (space) cd for me was amazing
