I guess this video caused alot of controversy a couple years back, but this is the first time I've heard of it. With all the negative images the
media forces down peoples throats this is what society deems as wrong?

Because they pretend this is BET's alternative to Sesame Street and intended to make the creators look bad. The guy Bomani was right when he said the
proper context for analyzing the video is comparing it to the other videos on Rap City, where this video is also shown. The beauty of this type of
satire is that if you don't get the satire, you still see positive messages like:
Brush your teeth
Drink water, since your body needs it
Use deoderant
Buy land, not spinning rims
...
Oh, and READ A BOOK... not the sports page, not a magazine.... A BOOK
If you do get the satire, you realize the commentary they're making on the values expressed in most hip hop.
