for real?
fuck man i hope so cuz this may be the breaking point for me as stupid as that sounds

I heard you put the ipod in a box of dry rice for a couple days. Make sure it's off and locked.

tireironsaint - 10-19-2009 at 04:34 PM

Yeah, it's entirely possible that it could come back. Something like dry rice or those silicon packets that say "DO NOT EAT" on 'em can help suck the moisture out of it and is definitely worth a shot.

M.Alki - 10-19-2009 at 04:57 PM

my ipod got wet a while back, couldnt do anything with it for days the screen would dimly light up and then just do nothing.
After about a week of leaving it alone i randomly tried to turn it on, it worked. Same thing happened to my friend too. Just leave it and see what happens.

clevohardcore - 10-19-2009 at 05:41 PM

YA I was told to put my phone in the freezer when I got caught in the rain. My phone was destroyed though.

barc0debaby - 10-19-2009 at 08:49 PM

You can try putting it in a bag of rice too.

Just make sure not to try turning it on for a few days. I heard you can fuck it up for good if its not completely dried out before you power it up.

If the dry out don't work, you can have one of ours.
We've got two older ones (third gen) that we don't really use.

When I first read this I thought it said "Dry Ice"... I was thinking 1st) WTF and 2nd) Who thought of putting their Ipod in dry ice to fix it?

DaveMoral - 10-20-2009 at 09:25 PM

The dry rice thing is still a "WTF?" kinda thing though. Who came up with that one, and why the hell would you think "hey, maybe if I put my iPod/cell phone in a back of uncooked rice it'll work again?"

Some Portland OR company is going to putting out a thing that does exactly what the rice does but, of course, you're going to have to pay more for it.

XnMeX - 10-20-2009 at 11:27 PM

There is a WTF? trick to fixing the Xbox 360 which involves wrappiung it in a towel and letting it run till it overheats... Yeah, I'm not kidding...

DaveMoral - 10-20-2009 at 11:57 PM

Seriously, some motherfucker just got all desperate to get his shit working and just did what the fuck ever he could think of. Hahaha.
