Or know anyone who lived there? Supposedly they will be recruiting in Clevo for Law Enforcement job openings next month. Moving out of the country seems pretty drastic, but if the pay is good? Who knows.

Edmonton is ok and depending on what you are going into their economy is very good, but has experienced a drop in the last few years as gas prices have dropped. That being said they have enjoyed some the of the best times Canada has seen for a few years so it is a wealthy city and Alberta is a wealthy province. It is cold as hell there in the winter and they summers while nice are not that long. If the price makes sense then I say go for it as I am sure that there will be many things there that you will find to be nice.

Clevo, I had some friends from college who were from there. Goofy dudes. It is wicked fucking cold there in the winter. There is going to be a culture shock too. Canadians have always been very nice and inviting unless you are a US born hockey player trying to earn a spot.

For sure keep an open mind but look at the population trends. If they are on an up-tick, law enforcement is a good thing to be in there.

If I were a single dude, I'f for sure consider moving there.

Yup, much cold and a big mall. Wages are wayyyy higher out there than any other part of the country, but houses are as well. Chris is right, if you were single I'd say go for it for sure. In your situation, I'd say do some research about the wages/housing market first. I will say I was considering it myself before I landed a government gig. Electricians make a lot more money out there than here.

I am looking it up online and apparently its far north enough that is gets the summer solstice effect. Where its daylight all day long for over a month and equally night during the winter. That shit would be intense. Plus I read that it leads all of Canada in Domestic Violence against women. What the fuck is up with that?

My friend and her boyfriend moved from New Zealand to round that part of Canada and they really loved it there, got good jobs pretty easy too. the only reason they even left is because her mum got ill so she wanted to be back home.

The only places that I've been up North are Toronto,Winnipeg,and Montreal...I enjoy myself when visiting (long since gotten over the French thing...I just ignore it,until they realize that I speak New York.)...I really like the Canadian paper money!!!
It's color coded,and really friggin' neat...way better than our greenish hue for all bit...And,I will always be indebted to our Neighbors From The North for the BEST EVER comedy show/troupe, SCTV....

Never been to Edmonton but I know it's cold as shit in winter and the Oilers suck balls but if you don't watch NHL then that won't matter. CFL team is called the Eskimo's fod good reason though haha.
