Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Cheap Tragedies

Anybody heard of these guys yet? I just stumbled across their full length at Wax Trax when I was up in Denver for that Pogues show and I'm blown away. This is Erba from Face Value, Gordon Solie Mothefuckers, Nine Shocks Terror, and so forth, with some other seasoned Cleveland area vets, so I figure Clevo might have at least heard of 'em. Anyway, I figured Erba would never be able to top GSMF, but I think he may have done it. Cheap Tragedies has kind of an old school HC sound, but with a bit of a Rock And Roll back to it and it goes down great as far as I'm concerned. I just ordered one of their seven inches that came out before this record, but the other one they have out seems to be impossible to find, so if anybody out that way stumble across one for sale somewhere or has one they don't need, let me know. The one I want is called Shepherd To Lost Sheep on Livewire Records.

Anyhow, check 'em out,

I'm digging it. Fast no bullshit hardcore punk.

Got the seven inch I ordered in the today's mail, been listening to that and the full length and I'm amazed these guys aren't more well known. Apparently they got started in late 2006 and with the line up they should have some built in notoriety. There's some great video footage of 'em over at the Livewire Records site for anybody looking to check 'em out a bit more.
