Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

What the FUCK is wrong with kids these days?

tireironsaint - 5-28-2005 at 06:32 PM

Has anybody seen this video already? Buncha fuckin' idiots showin' what happens when the scene is invaded by metal. And yeah, I mean both the bands AND the fans. Seriously, WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!?!

Discipline - 5-28-2005 at 10:10 PM

Remember when slam dancing involved dancing. I didn't realize you had to be a fuckin acrobat to go in the pit these days. I'm seeing AF tomorrow night so I better start practicing my moves now so I can make sure I look really cool.

On a related note, what exactly is a "wall of death?"

BDx13 - 5-28-2005 at 10:47 PM

the wall of death is old school. used to be that a bunch of dudes would lock arms near the back of the club, and run like mother fuckers towards the stage, taking everybody out along the way. when sick of it all plays, they usually encourage a wall of death during one song in particular (can't remember which), but they go with more of a braveheart thing where everybody chooses a side (left of right) and when the song starts, they just run into each other in the middle.

ManMadePsycho - 5-28-2005 at 10:54 PM

Wall of deaths can be fun at times, but a lot of times it just usually ends up in everybody getting into a tangled mess and everybody falling on the floor...

I like the concept of the locking arms near the back of the club and running towards the stage...Reminds me of what me and my boys eric, ryan, matt do to light the floor up for bands

''ON THREE, BUM RUSH THE FRONT!''

I like the GWF vids.... I dotn mind the dancing, fuck it...
But i hate the whole balarina, kickboxing shit. When you go out and try to hit people.
If i wanted to see peopl just standing around and ricking out, id go to a metal show.

raise your fist high, stage dive, dance the night awaaaaaay

moron - 5-31-2005 at 11:15 AM

Ive never seen a circle pit. How weird is that? Apparently it's not an east coast thing to do.

SAAAAARS - 5-31-2005 at 11:37 AM

i've only seen one or two successful ones. one was two years ago at a sworn enemy show and just recently at terror. really often when west coast bands play maine, they try to get circle pits going, but it usually doesn't happen.

Killthehumans - 5-31-2005 at 02:05 PM

there are alot of circle pits at punk shows. I also see circle pits at posi hardcore shows...some kid had a cool t-shirt "circle pits not karate kicks"

Discipline - 5-31-2005 at 07:07 PM

Posi hardcore??? What the fuck is that??????????????/:o

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. I just don't think the words positive and hardcore really go together. It's not really what I would consider happy music for happy people.

Killthehumans - 6-3-2005 at 11:32 AM

havent you heard that new stand and fight song...."keep your head up, always fucking try" haha thats too positive

clevohardcore - 6-13-2005 at 11:12 PM

that vid is pretty funny. FUCKING ASSHOLES AND THE FUCKING OLYMPICS AND SHIT.

Damn I bet todays moshing will start recuituing girls from ROMANIA and shit now.

upyerbum - 10-20-2005 at 08:33 AM

I had no idea this sort of nonsense was even going on. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I'm speechless. Why are they videotaping themselves and posting it on the internet? I'd be horrified if a video like that even existed of me.

Terror Aesthetic - 10-20-2005 at 09:23 AM

i must confess to doing the windmillthi ng on one or two occasions.. i know it looks dumb as fuck but its just kind of fun. more often than not i just wait until its packed and run in swnging full force. still help people up when i knock them down if thersx a chance to though. hardcore chivalry represent

upyerbum - 10-24-2005 at 11:16 AM

I'm sure I've made a spectacle of myself when I've lost my mind at shows as well, but these kids are doing this on purpose. What was the name of that Youth Brigade movie where Sean Stern is giving a dance demonstration?

Terror Aesthetic - 10-24-2005 at 11:26 AM

another state of mind had that.

Terror Aesthetic - 10-24-2005 at 11:28 AM

yea its amazing these kids are missing that part of the brain that tells you when youre doing something completely inappropriate or stupid... we all lose it on the sauce but arent most of them living the clean life now?

upyerbum - 10-28-2005 at 06:54 PM

If thats what the clean life does to you I'm stayin where I'm at.

that's my personal favorite. Kids get confused, sometimes mad, like you're breaking a rule or something
