gavin - 5-31-2005 at 12:04 PM

have youz heard this yet?

Discipline - 5-31-2005 at 07:17 PM

Hopefully the new one won't suck as bad as Blackout did. Maybe they'll let Al sing on more then a couple of tracks this time.

DAN SMASH - 5-31-2005 at 07:24 PM

i didnt really mind blackout, thought it was quite good in fact.
yeah, not a patch on previous releases though.
the other half loves them though, we had the dirty glass as first dance when we got married.

JawnDiablo - 5-31-2005 at 08:54 PM

blackout was half n half. either the songs were real good or they just didnt register. i liked their older discs much better.they were allot more...uh fun i guess

Killthehumans - 5-31-2005 at 10:23 PM

Daune why dont you ever set up these cool package dealies?

BDx13 - 5-31-2005 at 10:42 PM

we do free posters with first 100 orders and crap like that, but haven't gotten around to sales or combos with our new vendor yet.

Discipline - 6-1-2005 at 11:41 PM

Okay, now I'm really pissed at the DKM. I just picked up a copy of the "Singles Collection Vol. 2" and they totally suck now. They did a split 7" with AF on which they did a really funny version of "Pipebomb On Lansdowne." In that version (the dance mix) they used certain un-PC words like faggot and shit like that. I threw on the cd and they bleeped out the offensive words on the song. I guess now that they are more popular they want to make sure they don't offend anybody. Fucking bullshit. Pussies!

thedog - 6-2-2005 at 03:31 AM

i am still a huge DKM fan, but definitely agree there is no place for bleeps in "punk" music.

BDx13 - 6-2-2005 at 06:26 AM

wait... actual bleeps?

Dave - 6-2-2005 at 07:15 AM

yup bleaps.........

i heard the new album, it's pretty good although it seems like they are trying 'too' hard to use bagpipes as much as they can, in as many songs as they can. and when they do it just sounds like second rate Real McKenzies.

but what the hell do i know.

still i'd like to see them play again, and i will pick up the new CD when it comes out.

jonnynewbreed - 6-2-2005 at 10:25 AM

Real Mckenzies are awesome and truley underratted. You should all check out Clash of the Tartens. As I see it the best Celtic/punk/streetpunk/folk record all bundled into one...do it bitch's.

viva hate - 6-2-2005 at 10:32 AM

what are there like 20 dkm members now? they are good, but i didn't like the last album enough to buy it.

Killthehumans - 6-2-2005 at 02:47 PM

Anyone from boston area knows that WERS now bleeps songs. Thats reall ame...cause they didnt used too

PS for those of you that dont know WERS is emerson college radio and they play punk and hardcore sat. at 11:00

gavin - 6-2-2005 at 02:52 PM

i saw the dropkicks twice
they were not all that great either time
i love them but they were not all that hot when i saw them

once was opening for the sex pistols
the pistols put on the best show i have ever seen

Killthehumans - 6-2-2005 at 02:53 PM

i like DKM, they are good drinkin' music...even though i dont drink

Discipline - 6-2-2005 at 03:46 PM

I've seen them live 4-5 times and it was amazing every time. Hell of a fun show. I just thought the last album was pretty fuckin weak, and I'm pissed that they bleeped the lyrics on that track cause I have the 7" and it's fuckin hilarious.

New Breed boys got it right though, Real McKenzies are fucking amazing. I'd recommend any of their albums and their dvd is pretty great too.

tireironsaint - 6-2-2005 at 07:03 PM

The Murphys have put on an amazing show every time I've seen 'em and that's been quite a few times now. I was kinda burnt on 'em and didn't wanna even really check out Blackout until I saw 'em play it and then I bought it that night even though that meant I couldn't pick up a buncha other shit I wanted there.

The Real McKenzies are so fuckin' brilliant! I love those guys, every single record of theirs is a must have if you like Celtic, Punk or Celtic-Punk in any way, shape, or form. I understand they're in the studio (or about to be in there) recording a new one right now.

I think the beeps make it ten times funnier and I'm pretty sure that's what they were going for.

The new CD is fuckin awesome. Its my favorite record they've ever done by far. I wasn't feeling Blackout too much when it first came out but it grew on me when I saw them play the songs live. This one hit me like a ton of bricks on the first listen; I love it.

really?!?!
can you compare it with any of the stuff they have done in the past?
i cant wait to hear it

soulless - 6-3-2005 at 03:31 AM

i agree that the beeps make it funnier. mine isn't's not the most objective opinion because i've heard it unbleeped, but i still think you can tell what they're saying 99% of the time anyway.

they're one of my favorite bands, they've been one of my favorite bands for the last several years (sorry, i didn't know who they were until sometime around 1999) and i liked blackout just as much as the older stuff. someone tell me i don't need to pre-order this thing, i don't need a 3rd (or 4th?) dkm shirt, it's kind of a lousy design, and i should save myself the 4 bucks plus shipping and just get off my ass and just go to the store when it comes out. the reminder that in the past it's taken jsr merchandising 2 and a half months to ship stuff to my house should be enough...but i'm also glad my credit card isn't in the room right now, haha.

Actually I emailed Ken and he said it because he's got a 3 yr old and 2 living grandmothers who would hear it and he wanted it to be cool for anyone to listen to. He figured he'd leave the uncensored to those of us who have the vinyl. Glad I have it.

bellaco - 6-3-2005 at 09:40 PM
