SS76 - 11-25-2009 at 08:40 PM

Jason the Magnificent - 11-26-2009 at 02:59 AM

Thats a good score...almost everything on that list is well above average.

i've recently developed an interest in decent ale drinking rather than the cheap chemical-filled piss that is served in pubs over here.

Fortunately, I have about 3 friends who are obsessed with real ales and have sampled a lot of the good (and bad) stuff already.

Currently loving this stuff, you guys get this over there?

we get that here in Nova Scotia. we are lucky enough to get most of the fuller's beers here. the fuller's porter is fantastic.

REV.PAULIE - 11-26-2009 at 08:47 AM

I gotta get back into beer...I love my bourbon, but for a while I was a beer freak...I still try to drink good, when affordable/available,but I've slacked, big time...I'm a huge fan of Imperial Stouts,Porters.and Barleywines...I love me an extremely hoppy IPA,as well...I guess I'm just a fan of strong, bold Ales...If it hits my palate with authority - I'm intrigued...My buddy,Alex, used to manage a few specialty beer bars here in NYC,years ago...That Ukie bastard taught me a lot,and taught me what to appreciate without being a "beer snob/DICK"...I got good stories from then...Happily,and "expensively"(as if we was payin'!) all warm and fuzzy...Or,arrested...IT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE,and Jerome (pronounced YUR-EMA) would attest to the Officer's misunderstanding of the street trash getting pummeled...

This was over 14 years ago...I brag...I stop.

Paul

REV.PAULIE - 11-26-2009 at 09:09 AM

Oh,and on top of all that...

Juanito..Can I move in for 2 days to help finish that lurvely, lurvely ale?

I can find a 'Dog,home...

Jason the Magnificent - 11-26-2009 at 10:28 AM

It's a helluva good time right now to be a beer geek Paul. Unprecedented amounts of good brew available just about everywhere. It used to be a chore finding good IPA's and Imperial Stouts and the like...now you'll have so damn many to chose from you wont know what to grab.

we were talkin bout that at my friends place last saturday.
i have an excellent beer distributor within walking distance. they have a selection that is unmatched in anywhere i've been. i used to have a store that sold bottles by singles that had like 400 different brands, but when the neighborhood went full on ghetto the owner sold it to koreans who now specialize in Hurricane and Colt 45 and rice in bulk

Dave - 11-27-2009 at 10:48 AM

juan, you should so mail me some of that shit.....:baddevil:

JawnDiablo - 11-27-2009 at 11:53 AM

if yous told me the logistics involved in shipping such items i'd be up for partaking in a THORP swap.
as far as I know it is illegal to ship alcohol across state lines / out of the states isn't it? maybe not vuz my brother had sent me a nice bottle of Tequilla years back via airborne express...

Jason the Magnificent - 11-27-2009 at 05:23 PM

Nah, theres ways around it, people beer swap all the time and even sell beer on ebay, the key is saying it's collectable glassware and that the value of the bottle outweighs the contents...I just did a big trade with newbreedbrian...and that was to Canada.

I'd be down for this... like getting a secret beer santa where we each get one 22oz bomber of something good and local to us and draw names on who to send it to. We can even list who's in in a thread and list types of beer you like so the person can guage there purchase accordingly...(basically so no one sends me any pils lol).
