Soundgarden reunion

Mark Lind - 1-1-2010 at 01:12 PM

I'm all over this. I listen to Chris Cornell's stuff every day like it was just released yesterday. <------dork.

Last time I saw them was in 1991 when they opened for Guns N' Roses. No one knew who they were including me.

i was a fan of the first few records... up to spoonman.
what was that, 94?

i think the last time i saw them was with danzig in 1990.
i shoulda kept a list of shows i went to... i'm forgetting more and more every year!

this is the most interesting bit from that blabbermouth article, in my opinion. i'd love to see/hear this; i am a HUGE tad doyle fan:

"Thayil, bassist Ben Shepherd and drummer Matt Cameron did stage a partial reunion at a March 2009 Tom Morello show in Seattle, playing a handful of SOUNDGARDEN songs with Tad Doyle singing."

Always hated Cornells voice.

I don't understand the appeal of the so called "grunge" bands. Most of them seemed to have that ridiculous singing style that traveled to it's logical conclusion with that Creed band. The music all sounded like kids who grew up on some decent music but wanted to mix in a bunch of cheesy arena rock styles and call it something new. No thanks.

of all of them soundgarden was the only one I liked...
the early stuff reminded me a lot of sabbath

I hear that a lot from people I know. I guess you either love it or hate it. No one seems to just like it. haha

Hah, that's probably yet another reason I don't like 'em.

Most people I've known over the years are like that, they either love him or hate him, nobody seems to be in the middle. I can't count how times I've heard people say "I love their music but the vocals suck." Usually followed by somebody else chiming in to say they love his voice.

i just listened to louder than love the other day......

clevohardcore - 1-1-2010 at 10:10 PM

I dislike the douche that is Cornell, but the band did rock.

XHonusWagnerX - 1-1-2010 at 10:45 PM

I saw them on the 1st Lollapalooza and then again at Rocky Point I think, but I'm not sure who they were playing with. I liked them back then though.

i might be the only one on this planet that likes that album.

when i heard about it i was ready to hate it, but once i listened to it, i didn't.

Hope this is a good thing for some of you. This is something I'm not down with.

where did you see them in '90?

BDx13 - 1-6-2010 at 05:45 PM

at the troc in philly.
danzig, soundgarden & warrior soul.
(warrior soul was, um... memorable.)

Six66Mike - 1-6-2010 at 05:58 PM

I'd rather a Temple of The Dog reunion but I guess you can't go wrong with Spoonman & Black Hole Sun. badmotorfinger was a good album.

Jason the Magnificent - 1-7-2010 at 01:57 PM

I don't love them or hate them/him...they're just boring. Is that the middle?
