who the fuck thought they were gonna get a G5 tablet?

don't get me wrong, I'm skeptical about a few things (like that onscreen keyboard and a lack of flash support) - but this is not meant to be a work station. it's meant to handle the little things that MOST people do with their computer - surf the web and read email. netbooks have been selling like mad for a reason...i'd never buy one for myself, but they do what most people need for a limited price. this is the same deal. plus, kindles are flying off the fucking shelf at amazon. this thing does a hell of a lot more not that much more money.

i think the concept behind this thing has a place. whether or not people will be able to get past some of the apparent quirks is to be seen.

this is a spam post that I dont totally get, but I will say that I now have an iPad II and I love it. If I didnt have as much free time at work I wouldnt have bought it, but I do use it a lot at work. I want to get some cool artsy apps. I wish there was a real photoshop app for it, but even the GarageBand app is almost enough to keep me busy.

I use mine for large format angry birds, and e-mail. that's about it (now that I am off fb again). Glad I got it for free, I am already bored of it.

ipad1 it was around xmas. The company gave everyone one (instead of bonuses). Kinda wish I just returned it for cash lol.

I don't get it... It was more random text from another post but the person did not have any links to anything... I am guessing the mentions of iPad has somthing to do with it from it's popularity in searches.

Yeah, the Flash thing bothers me. Why would they have it on the iPhone, but not the iPad?

apple's argument - and it's a fair one, despite what adobe says - is that flash is too much of a resource hog. if they beefed up the internal specs of the iphone/ipad to handle flash with the same ease the device handles other content, it wouldn't be that small, light or inexpensive, nor would the batter last as long.

even on my macbook pro, when i hit a flash game or watch a youtube video, my machine heats up to over 140 degrees and the fans run so fast and loud the machine sounds like it's gonna explode.

But you can get youtube videos on an iPhone, even the newer ones. My friend just got a brand new one, and she was showing me videos on it.

true, but those videos are not displayed using flash. keep in mind, flash is not the file format of the actual video (videos are typically .mov, .mwv, .mpg, etc), its just the means (technology / coding language) by which video files have typically been displayed on websites. videos can also be displayed using a different language called HTML5. any youtube video you see on an iphone or ipad is presented via html5. vimeo is a huge html5 supporter.
