ANGEL CITY OUTCASTS RE-AFFIRM THEIR PLACE IN THE SAILOR'S GRAVE FAMILY!

BDx13 - 2-10-2010 at 12:48 AM

With their most ambitious musical effort poised to drop on an unsuspecting music public on May 11th, 2010, ANGEL CITY OUTCASTS, the Clint Eastwood of rock 'n roll, have re-signed with SAILOR'S GRAVE RECORDS for the release of their 3rd studio, and decisively self-titled, full length release!

In true ACO tradition, the record displays and intertwines an ample range of styles and emotions, blending it all together with relentless rhythm, undeniably hooky melodies and their ever-present blistering guitar solos. Angel City Outcasts can be described as Rock n Roll's bastard child, as the band was fathered by an eclectic bunch of musical forefathers including southern and hard rock, punk, classic country, doo-wop, blues, and even soul and R&B. While it's these diversities that give the band that distinct sound, their homage to these genres is also what gives ACO its cohesively classic feel. Angel City Outcasts' die hard following continues to grow everyday as the band forges its reputation as a staple favorite act in rock n roll due to touring worldwide and playing along acts such as DROPKICK MURPHYS, SOCIAL DISTORTION, THE POGUES, and RANCID.

"This self titled record is kind of a reboot of Angel City Outcasts.", explained singer Alex Brugge. Original guitarist, and outlaw in arms, Tak Boroyan chimed in, "It's a new sound, a new lineup, and a new era in the band's history. These are hands down some of the best songs we've ever written, not to mention that the production and the performance is the best its ever been on any A.C.O. record. Simply stated, this record is gonna kick your ass."

Sailor's Grave Records owner, and long time friend of the band, Andy King, shared his thoughts, "We couldn't be more enthused to help ACO in getting this record out there. Having worked with them already for years, it is amazing to see the growth and development in their sound, musicianship, and overall aesthetic. This record is rock n roll in its most maximized form-- with a host of flavors that make it come alive afresh with every riff. "

LOVE this band. I actually wake up to "Keep On Moving" every morning.

This is fucking great news!

Cool band. Their singer's voice reminds me so much of Jon Bon Jovi.

While I'm not a diehard fan of the band, I like some of the stuff on their first two albums, so I'm sure I'll check this out at some point.

Any chance the 3-CD bundle in the shop can also be a digital download offer? The price is great, but the shipping to Europe will probably be insane. Also, I'd just rather get the digital download since I don't really use CD players anymore. If not, I'll still do the $20 download for all the new releases.

On your suggestion, we're adding digital bundles for the three ACO releases ($18) and the two Kings of Nuthin releases ($14). Thanks, Random!

Sweet! Will be ordering. And does this mean I can add "Consultant, Thorp Records, 2010" to my CV? :) I expect a nice recommendation letter for my future career as a business school professor!!!

BDx13 - 3-12-2010 at 06:38 PM

i believe it does, yes!

You know, as an official unpaid consultant, i don't mind running a Thorp/SG merch stand at the European festivals if you can get me in for free and ship over a box of stuff to sell! Seems like you might have something similar with I Scream given the co-releases, but just putting the idea out there! :)

All joking aside, let me know if there's any way I can help... all these years in school should be relevant to the real world somehow, right??? :)

BDx13 - 3-13-2010 at 12:33 AM

Yeah, almost all of our releases are licensed from us by labels in other territories. You'll see albums from Thorp & SGR bands in Europe on I Scream, PLY, IHP, FTW.
