Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Today we rescued 2 German shepherd puppies

that were scared and running aimlessly around a busy intersection. They were very calm and friendly and got in the back of my Jeep without issue. They were licking my boy and I and very good. I took them to the APL that was literally around the block. I honestly thought they got loose from there because its really a business district and not a residential area. The lady at the desk kind of rude and thought I was dropping them off and didn't want them anymore. I explained the situation and she was like the Pound doesn't open until Tuesday. I said my landlord wont allow them and she was called some dude from the back. He came out to check em out and said they looked pure breed and very good for being strays or whatever. I asked him what was going to happen. He said to the pound they go for 3 days. If no one picks em up or claims em then the APL will choose to buy em and sell em. If not the are put to sleep. We have since found out that we can have and the wife and son and looking forward to the possible new addition to the family. Not sure if I'll actually do this, but I might get one of em. I'd hate to split em up since they are brother and sister I assume, but I don't really want 2 freaking big dogs around. I am calling up there tomorrow to see what would be needed to do if we decide this. The son already has some names picked out. Fluffy, Buddy, Bandit, I say compromise the Bandit name and call it Smokey. Not sure if he'll go for it.

Sounds ace,lets hope there's a happy ending.

I once saved a duck,true story.

It'd got lost and was woundering around the town centre on the busy roads,so my ex drove past it and i opened the door and grabbed it while said ex was still driving. (I had the A-team theme tune running in my head) We parked up,found the nearest canal and popped it back in the water.

It quacked,i smiled.

so, what's the plan on the dogs?

Great news. The idiots that let em go came back and claimed them an hour after we dropped em off. Needless to say if I see them on there own again wandering they will end up in a home that makes sure they will not wander the highways again. I am happy that the owners at least were missing them and not throwing them away or some shit.

Side note: The boy is now wanting a animal and we are now thinking long and hard about it. He has settled on the name Bandit.................. Or Wiskers. Or maybe Max. Did I say he's all about getting a dog? Lol. Kidding aside, I still miss or Boxer Murphy. It's been since 2007. Greatest dog ever.

good to hear that the owners claimed them.
never know the circumstances, could have been completely harmless.
if they didn;t care about the animals, they wouldn;t have gone looking.

I know the feeling about your boxer Bud. We still miss ours from '07 as well. We sing to him every night before my Shortie goes to bed.

Rescuing another does make it easier. I promise you.

Dude, www.petfinder.com has a great list of little guys/gals that need someone to save them. I hope you find a winner and tell us all about them. Get a puppy too. We got one at 9 months and it was tough for him to understand we were his forever home.
