I can't help you, but what I can do is rant!

Flac files annoy me and I see no point for them... If you rip a CD to a audio format that is "better than cd" guess what, it's still CD quality since that is the source you are ripping from! FUCK! I can see if you have soundboard audio from a studio, sure. But all these people encoding cds into FLAC is pointless.

is Media Monkey the only jawn that plays flacs?

Yeah, FLAC sucks. For that matter, so do WMA files. Especially WMA files that for whatever reason can't be converted for use in iTunes.

I got dbPowerAmp with full license, it will transcode to any format you want.

I won't bother explaining the differences though :P I used to think the same heh. No audio format claims to be better than CD quality though, none that I've seen. FLAC is just an exact copy, no loss compared to mp3 which cuts the highs & lows out.

Grab this for converting.

the advantage of flac and other lossless formats is that they take up less space than raw wav files. it's good for storing music on a harddisk or downloading an album and being able to burn it to cd in actual cd quality.
but if you don't care about lossless audio don't bother with it. few people can actually hear the difference between lossless and high quality mp3.
