I Dont think they do still make 8 tracks... I think that small labels do it as a novelty item and they just record over old 8 tracks that they get a
flea markets & salvation army stores.
Welfare Records from Haverhill, MA did an 8 track of the band Fucked Up and they did a 4" reel to reel tape of Fucked Up too!

yeah all 8-tracks are rerecordable, you just have to have the 8 track deck that records...
