Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

cell phone provider, the phone and the service

clevohardcore - 3-24-2010 at 08:26 PM

New every 2 is up in a couple days. Now VERIZON is charging $10 each phone for data on all the phones that are in the new every 2. This will be an extra $20 bones every month and i have never even needed a phone to access internet or email. SO since I have no choice I am thinking of staying with them and bending over or going to at&t or Sprint. Sprint has some nice deals and the bill includes unlimited data and gps on some sweet phones.

VERIZON = droid, envtouch, blackberry-(iphone killer) i forgot the name.

SPRINT= 2 free blackberry's and you don't have to pay the $29 monthly fee. Plus they also have some other phone that compared to the Droid.

Whats your phone deal?

I have the iPhone with my girlfriend on a shared plan. its EXPENSIVE, but I love it.

I think we pay like $175 for 700 shared minutes, 1500 text messages and unlimited data.

Just bought a phone from US Cellular. $180 total package...and $10 a month. F packages and people being able to always get a hold of me.

if cost is the primary concern, check providers like mycricket.com and metropcs.com.

I just switched to Verizon because of the voice services being better...

Still use my iPhone as an iPod Touch with wifi spots.

JawnDiablo - 3-25-2010 at 09:28 AM

^^^^^^ Same as us. Just wait till you have to renew your contract when your new every 2 comes up. Thats were we are at now. You'll be forced to add the data package if you want a decent phone.

Telus - Black Berry Storm - I forget all the crap i get, but its 71$ a month.

Jason the Magnificent - 3-25-2010 at 01:40 PM

Question for those of you paying around $100 a month for a cell phone package...do you also have land lines?

BDx13 - 3-25-2010 at 01:47 PM

^ yes, through vonage. i greatly prefer talking on a land line, so even though i have to have a cell, i still want the option of talking on a proper phone.

unfortunately, that makes for a high monthly phone bill.
$50/mo for two vonage lines (home/office)
$180/mo for an iphone/blackberry cell package w/ unlimited data & txt.

only upside is that it all gets written off.

JawnDiablo - 3-25-2010 at 01:56 PM

No. I do not have a land line.

I'll keep this phone for as long as it works.
She is the one always wanting the newest whatever when a deal is available.
I'd be happy with 2 tin cans and a string.

spyderdog - 3-25-2010 at 06:32 PM

spyderdog - 3-25-2010 at 09:15 PM

Furly - 3-25-2010 at 11:49 PM

I have a landline too. I use it as often as I can tosave on my cell minutes. I use that number for advertising an apartment for rent also. I don't feel good about sticking my cell number on the front door of my house.

The land line comes out to about $30 a month, it's a package deal with my Internet and direct TV.

Dave - 3-26-2010 at 08:46 AM

I think i use like 15 minutes a month on my cell... i hate talking on the phone.

Yes!

I have AT & T. I signed a 2 year contract which gives me the basic model phone with it. I pay about 50 a month plus 5 extra for 200 texts. When the contract is up I'm going to pay as you go since I never have even come close to using all of my minutes.

wez138 - 3-27-2010 at 05:55 PM

I pay £10 a month for 100 minutes talk time and 100 texts...The phone is quite good too, 8g's of memory and the MP3 player is really good.

JawnDiablo - 3-29-2010 at 07:13 AM

I've never ever come closae to using my minutes and I always seem to have the lowest offer...then again I wouldn't want to talk to me either.
