I suppose we should first get a feel for who wants to be involved. Also in the interest of order...if you want in, list your top five favorite beer
styles in that reply. Which should help eliminate clutter early on. Also, any questions can be listed in that reply and I'll do my best to keep things
added to this first post.
The next step, once we get an even amount of swappers, we'll somehow figure out how to draw names and each be responsible to get our swappee our
favorite LOCAL versions of 3 of his or her favorite 5 styles and one of our favorite locals you'd like to turn them on to. So 4 bottles total. ( I
figured 5 styles was a little easier to pick three from for people not in beer mecca's ).
Since prices vary we'll limit it to 12oz bottles and avoid the big spike in large/bomber size bottles.
Once you have your 4 bottles, you can wrap them in bubble wrap, ziploc bags, newspaper and just generally pack the hell out of them (basically making
sure that if they DO break you dont have a leaky mess of a box) and mail them off to your swappee. UPS, USPS, FedEx...although I'm sure all services
frown upon it, they all work, though supposedly USPS is illegal?
I'm sure some of our friends to the north will want in and since the shipping will be considerably higher to send to Canada, please mention if you
have a real aversion to being randomly selected for one of those.
Then once received, drink, enjoy and post your likes and dislikes here.Jason the Magnificent - 6-1-2010 at 06:53 PM

For legal and practical reasons can't participate in this for a couple more weeks but I'd be interested in this. Local beer is somewhat limited for me
but given enough time i will have some home brews. I don't have any real preference for styles, I just enjoy being turned on to new beers.BDx13 - 6-2-2010 at 02:03 PM
I'm definitely in and I'm down to try pretty much anything.
Right now I'm drinking mostly heavier beers with higher alcohol content (HA!) - stouts (oatmeal, imperial), smoked porters, Belgian Abbey-style ales
(tripel/quad). It is just about Weisse beer season, though, and I'm down with them as well.
The only beers I really don't like are overly hoppy beers like Lancaster's Hop Hog and bitter Pilsners and IPAs.Discipline - 6-2-2010 at 05:06 PM
I don't get too experimental with beers unless I'm in a bar and try something on draught. Other than that, I'm a buy what I know kind of guy. Plus
I'm more of a whiskey drinker.Johnny_Whistle - 6-2-2010 at 05:55 PM

Same here. I loves me my Guinness. I'll try stuff if I'm out somewhere, but I like what I like.
Plus, I don't have the attention span to do something like this. Everybody'd be getting their beer six months too late or something.Dave - 6-3-2010 at 09:58 AM

OK, Jason, looks like you and I are gonna be doing a direct swap.
If you're down, of course.
But lets hold off to finalize until July...
I got a couple things going on the next few weeks.
