gavin - 6-14-2005 at 03:18 PM

someone hipped me to that site
PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THE FUCK TO USE IT CUZ I HAVE NO FRIGGIN IDEA

moron - 6-14-2005 at 03:19 PM

I dont even know if I could begin to explain it. I honestly dont remember registering for it or creating a username... whatever it's called. I guess once that's set up you just use the search box to search for shit... then double click to download.

Im sure KyleOz can help you out more than me.

moron - 6-14-2005 at 03:21 PM

limewire is another program like Soulseek. I had downloaded that so I could search for porn. Everything I found either didnt work or put spyware on my computer so I deleted the program.

gavin - 6-14-2005 at 03:22 PM

really?
i got as far as the search thing
ill try it now
thanks

SHAKO KEN - 6-14-2005 at 03:22 PM

yeah, soulseek is probably the best for rare stuff. i gave up on kazaa years ago so i don't know how it is these days. limewire is allright for applications.

www.hxc.com

clevohardcore - 6-14-2005 at 03:54 PM

Man I sued kazaa about a year ago and got a couple viruses and never agian. I hear soulseekrules but I never really download. I might try it again jsut to find some shit.

KyleOz - 6-14-2005 at 04:05 PM

I am barely on anymore.

Kyle aka LilOz is my soulseek name. It is also my aim name, I like sharing over aim if anything. If I add you to my aim buddy list, use get file and go nuts. My albums I have purchased I only share through aim.

BDx13 - 6-14-2005 at 04:24 PM

could never figure out soulseek. do you have to add friends and download from them or something? i dunno. don't have time for that shit. now i just swap the occasional album with friends - it's faster, more reliable and easier.

KyleOz - 6-14-2005 at 04:28 PM

You don't have to add them, but is good to always see their name on that list. You can browse their files and whatnot. Plus if you are on their list you have first dibs on stuff over people who aren't their friends.

I prefer trading with people over aim now though.

p.s. If you want porn moron use Ares p2p

BDx13 - 6-14-2005 at 04:47 PM

i guess that was my other problem with slsk - anything i wanted to download, i was like 3,394th person in line. FUCK THAT!

SHAKO KEN - 6-14-2005 at 04:51 PM

yeah that happens a lot. i actually pay 5 bucks a month for privileges that allow you to skip lines. but if you don't use it often that's probably not worth it.

clevohardcore - 6-14-2005 at 06:26 PM

Damn you can download naked lady movies for free?

Hook this shit up.

Here you go

tireironsaint - 6-14-2005 at 07:24 PM

I've used soulseek and limewire and both have done pretty well for me, although the only reason I checked out limewire was because it's one of the only ones that seem to work really well with Macs. Of course, my Mac is old and outdated and has problems with all kinds of shit anyway...

Kazaa was one of the programs I had to hear about all the time back when I worked internet tech support. At least a few times a week I would get a call from someone who was being flooded with pop ups and spyware shit and it could usually be traced back to them downloading kazaa.

deathbox - 6-14-2005 at 07:37 PM

Limewire works best for me and Brian, my mac ( I didn't name the friggin' thing, it came this way).

There's some good stuff goes up on usenet in the alt.binaries.punk group, check out

http://www.newzbin.com/browse/group/p/alt.binaries.punk/

to see some of the stuff posted over the last few days.

To download you need a news reader like Grabit from here:

http://www.shemes.com/index.php?p=download

+ your ISP needs to have a decent news feed.

SAAAAARS - 6-14-2005 at 08:15 PM

i've never really had a problem with soulseek. i like it a lot.

BDx13 - 6-14-2005 at 09:58 PM

the mac slsk clients i tried sucked. limewire was ok. Acquisition is good.
direct from the hommies is the best way to go.

JUICE MAYNE MSHC - 6-15-2005 at 01:29 AM

I use Soulseek everyday. It's the best thing for old hardcore demos, 7 inches, etc. I found a demo from my own band on there. I also download Howard Stern Show every day from there. Soulseek never gets turned off at my house.

BDx13 - 6-15-2005 at 09:04 AM

see, that's exactly what i keep hearing about soulseek... whatg the hell is the matter with me that i can't get a better place in download line?!

SHAKO KEN - 6-15-2005 at 10:24 AM

try room searches, they give different results than the general search. for example, doubleclick the punk/hardcore/grind room in the rooms list, right-click in the tab that opens and select "search for files in room".

Gooch - 6-15-2005 at 12:42 PM

Soulseek rules. The majority of my collection is on vinyl/cassette so when I got my iPod last year I was able to d/l all that stuff. Otherwise I would have had to figure out how to transfer vinyl to my computer which I don't have time to do.
Occassionally I'll download a new record... which I actually feel bad about doing. But If I like it I will buy the real thing. I'd say about 90% of the stuff I've gotten on there I've owned at one point in my life or is something that is currently out of print.

My biggest problem is getting to people's lists. From what I've been told, if both users are behind a router, then you can't see each others lists. I have some friends that have a router, so if I want to get something from them, I just turn mine off and then I can connect.
