Yo chopper, where you from in Australia? If you're someone I know or a friend of a friend I'll tell my US friends to hook you up.

I went last year, it was really good fun. Except for getting hit in the face with a bloody cows head.

I'm siked about the BOLD, MEAN SEASON, YOUTH OF TODAY, 108 reunions. Not to mention Ramallah, madball and sick of it all and many others. I've never been to Jersey and it might be pretty rad. I hope I can get this off for work.

In somewhat of a suprising move, Hellfest organizers have announced that legendary rap outfit Public Enemy will perform at the event. Yes, we're talking Chuck D, Flavor Flav, and Professor Griff. Meanwhile, some information relevant to skateboarders has also been announced -- the event will feature "an exclusive public street course designed by Tim Glomb of MTV?s Viva La Bam, some of the industries sickest pros skating Red Bull?s 'BullRamp' (a 50 ft wide vert ramp), and the only chance in the Northeast to qualify for the infamous Beast Of The East contest. Finally, organizers have also announced the third round of bands scheduled to perform. Here are the newest additions:

3 Inches Of Blood
Alove For Enemies
All That Remains
Armsrace
Backstabbers Inc.
Casey Jones
Cannae
Chimaira
Dead Hearts
Hit The Lights
Ion Dissonance
Kane Hodder
Kids Like Us
Killing Time (reunion)
Nobody Left Behind
One Dead Three Wounded
Ready Set Fail
Six Feet Under
Suffocate Faster
This Is Hell
Walk The Line

I hope it's better than when we played. Short, short sets, no money for bands, one headache after another. It's gotta be better, they had nowhere to go but up. That wasn't too negative, was it?

Chopper - 6-29-2005 at 12:39 AM

Hey Big Duane, any tips for the chopper...

I am getting itchy now that Killing Time is playing...

Yeah, tonight is catch up night.

Tip #1. Come to the US! No, seriously...

Hellfest is in Trenton, NJ this year. There is just about fuck all to do in Trenton other than get shot at, although I am sure there will be after parties in the area every night. But as far a seeing america (if you're looking to do any of that), Trenton doesn't have much to offer other than a funny bridge with a huge light up sign that says "TRENTON MAKES THE WORLD TAKES", whatever the fuck that means.

Trenton is about 30 miles from Philly and about 60 miles from NYC. If you're coming this far, it's worth taking time to visit both cities, but I wouldn't recommend trying to commute from either city to hellfest for three days. Public transportation can definitely get you back and forth, but that'll get expensive, and places to stay in NYC aren't cheap.

If you have any other specific questions, start up a new thread and list 'em all out. There are a lot of people from New York and Philadelphia on this board that I'm sure will have plenty of suggestions. We'll have a booth at the show, but I'm not 100% sure if I'll be there yet.

bouncing souls, champion, blaclisted, hatebreed, madball, ramallah, rise against, sick of it all, terror.

those are the only bands i'm intersted in, i think, and i will be seeing most of them either at posi numbers or in my town shortly after. if i was rich, i'd go just to see bouncing souls. too bad.

ENDERA.x - 6-29-2005 at 05:20 PM

PUBLIC ENEMY ARE ON THIS!

Todd - 6-29-2005 at 06:57 PM

Hey Duane, I got chased across that bridge in Trenton by the police during my crime spree years. Good memories...

BDx13 - 6-29-2005 at 10:08 PM
