Antidote

I wasnt really familiar with these guys, but I got a copy of the 7" yesterday and its awesome! I would say its as good as most of the other early NY stuff.

A lot of the earlier bands use them in reference to being an influence. Can't wait to play a show or two with them.

is that a hint about something??

ShawnRefuse - 8-5-2010 at 11:10 AM

Well, they are playing out more. I am friends with them. I hope to play with them more.

The first show will be Aug 29. No ideas yet on a second one. But I am sure it'll happen.

REV.PAULIE - 8-5-2010 at 12:42 PM

The Antidote that you will be seeing isn't the one on the 7",outside of the guitarist...Drew was the 2nd singer, when they tried to be a "rock" band...They fucking SUCKED.I guess that's the Boston element fitting on that show with the other jerkoff bands that tried to go "rock",and failied miserably.Outside of Jerry's Kids and RR - all those bands can suck a dick and die.I saw DYS,"back in the day"...SUCKED.Ask him where his gecko is...But,I digress...

The original Antidote singer,Louie, works security at a couple of spots in Brooklyn.

So Paulie, Bring a another Reunion show up here. Ya know I would book it, and it would rule. Just saying.

And I have to say Jerry's Kids is the band I am dying to see.

ChadBeantown - 8-5-2010 at 01:26 PM

Jerry's Kids are incredible live!! They played a surprise set at the Beachcomber last weekend for the Unnatural Axe show!!

ShawnRefuse - 8-5-2010 at 04:13 PM

Well, then let's get the NEW ST up here. Or Joe Coffee, either way I'd be happy.

JawnDiablo - 8-5-2010 at 08:19 PM

PHILLY 8 DAYS!

BDx13 - 8-6-2010 at 11:50 AM

this thread is fucking funny.

sheer terror had plenty of line up changes over the years. i don't don't mean any disrespect to previous members of the band, but the fans bitching about one person or another not being in this iteration of the band need to get a grip. you wanna hear sheer terror songs live? guess what, the same guy's been holding the mic since day one, regardless of who was backing him up, so get off your asses some fucking fun.

ShawnRefuse - 8-6-2010 at 12:47 PM

BD, I don't think anyone on the board here will say it's not ST.

LOL.

If it wasn't sold out, I'd be there. BD or Josh, can I send you some fliers for the show I am putting on?

BDx13 - 8-6-2010 at 01:54 PM

yeah, i know. i'm just tired of hearing about it, generally. "sheer terror reunion? who all is playing?" i don't think i heard that question asked one time from 1988 (my first show) through 1998 (sheer terror's last ny show).

yeah, shawn, send me some flyers, i'll take 'em for ya.
friday definitely, probably saturday, but won't be there sunday.

Discipline - 8-6-2010 at 02:27 PM

New tunes from Paulie will be welcomed by me with open arms. Doesn't matter if it's Sheer Terror or Joe Coffee, as I love 'em both.

As for Antidote, I've heard the 7" and liked it but never heard anything else. I also agree with Paulie on DYS, they sucked camel cock.

PAUL IS SHEER TERROR....the other guys, whoever they were, were his back up. I never heard Neuman say anything witty at the audience so people need to stop their bro-mance with the dude.
