SHEER TERROR MISSION STATEMENT

REV.PAULIE - 8-16-2010 at 05:49 PM

First off,I want to thank Joe Hardcore for making this past weekend possible. The This Is Hardcore Fest was a great time to be had.Not just because I played it,but to see a scene/community that I'd honestly given up on MANY times, thriving.Did I like all the bands that i saw/heard?Hell no! But,it was affirming to know that they exist and that there are people who are there to support them.Hardcore is indeed alive and well, and I can truthfully say that that's a good thing.

I have a group of guys playing in ST,now, that are not only talented but genuinely excited to play out and write new material.I feel like I'm in a BAND,again.I haven't felt that in quite some time.It really would be stupid of me to let that go to waste.Their enthusiasm, alone, feeds my interests and wants to take the ride around the block again. The feeling onstage this past Friday night truly was electric. It was fun,it was real, and it fucking kicked ass.I am a lucky man.If you were there, thank you for being a part of it.It's great to be back.

Are we going to write new material? We're gonna give it a try.
Nothing will be released or played live, until we're absolutely positive that it only lives up to our own expectations and wants as a group.

Are we going to play more shows/tour? Yes,and no.
There will not be extensive touring. Not only because of family commitments for some of the members, but I honestly don't want to be out on the road playing the same set,day in/day out,200-300 nights out of the year.Nor do we want to "wear out our welcome".Going out for a week, here and there? Sure. Flying in for certain shows? Certainly,if it's afforded.I'd much rather it be somewhat of a "special occasion" when we play out.It would keep us interested enough to keep doing it,and hopefully the audience interested to come out and see us,as well.I don't want to "do the rounds",and be expected to be playing in a certain "market" 2 or 3 times a year. And,I don't want to do the "playing the oldies" tour.Outside of Japan, there will be no touring until new material is written and we have a new record out. It's far too early to even fathom when,or if,that will be.

So,that's the deal.I can't tell you when (or if) we'll have a new record out,and I can't tell you when we might be playing in a city near you. But,I can tell you that I'm happy to be doing this, again. But,this time,on my terms.

Well stated. I hope to make it to the NY show. Congrats on a slice of happiness.

XHonusWagnerX - 8-16-2010 at 06:01 PM

thanks again Paulie for making it so that my friend and I could come down to the show. You guys were awesome and tighter than I remember Sheer Terror being back when I saw you at Club Baby Head in Provience around 91!

Only bummer was not getting to talk to you, but I'm glad you enjoyed your self and hope to see you do it again.

Thanks Paulie!!

It would be an honor to do my part in getting Sheer Terror to Cleveland somehow. This town needs a show of that magnitude.

THORP - 8-16-2010 at 11:14 PM

Paulie,

The only thing that offended me during your set was that I didn't get any of your whiskey.

That set was truly one of the greatest things to occur this year, and recent previous years for that matter.

Do not entertain for a second what these meat whistles say.

to quote you to yourself ---- "...and I'm not impressed with the games you children play...."

Keep being yourself. We love it.

THORP

I'd drive to Baltimore.
you'd grow sick of me in the front row.

wtf? this is post # 10 Thousand for me.
10,000? jeez that's a bunch.
with that, I want a cool name like drunken monkey or some shit.
fitting it is in a thread about the new revamped sheer terror.

mattybar - 8-17-2010 at 10:34 AM

I still have the flyer for the London show that never happened.
I think ST would clean up in Europe.
Would be great to see you guys play London with The Business or something.
I'm sure it could be hooked up.
