From one single dad to another, chin up dude.

JawnDiablo - 8-17-2010 at 10:18 AM

sorry to hear that holmes.
I don't know your total deal there, but have been doing a lot of back n forth recently, though not a distance of 1100 miles.
keep your head up and stay strong.
it's easier said than done, but it's the only way.

Take Care Steve

ShawnRefuse - 8-17-2010 at 10:57 AM

sorry man. :/

Discipline - 8-17-2010 at 01:14 PM

Sorry bro. Is he going there for good?

XnMeX - 8-17-2010 at 05:24 PM

Sorry to hear this man.

lifeisabitch - 8-17-2010 at 08:50 PM

thanks ya all
he's been with my for a year
and hasn't seen her this entire time...
it'll be tough but we'll both get through it

XnMeX - 8-17-2010 at 08:57 PM

You going to see him at all? Have you seen your daughter in that time? Only answer what / if you want obviously.

lifeisabitch - 8-18-2010 at 10:16 AM

I will see him when I can, but living 1000 miles away is a bitch

I haven't seen my daughter in almost 2 years...
losing everything and everyone you loved in life takes a toll
it's only been a year since I was homeless, jobless, penniless

I am going to try to see them both within the month depending on school schedules...
if not then I think I am going to do Disney world for like 2 weeks over xmas with them...

until I decide where it is on the east coast I am going to relocate to and move the print shop

anyone got any good ideas?

today will be better than yesterday

newbreedbrian - 8-18-2010 at 01:57 PM

That's tough man, sorry to hear that. Hope you're doing ok.

Damn, Steve. It breaks my heart every time you post about these things. I know I have a lot of problems that I'm trying to deal with, and that's true of a lot of us on here... but shit, man, you're obviously trying so hard and can't seem to catch a break, and you're not even concerned so much about yourself but are just trying to be there for your kids.

As for the print shop, I don't know if any of us can help, but what are you looking for? One option would be Philly... you'll be around some fellow Thorp Warriors (and can even hire Quinn!), can save the Philly scene some money on shipping since they can pick up in person (which would hopefully encourage them to order even more from you), and you'd be close to Baltimore and NYC (who also should be supporting your shop). Philly is probably a cheaper option than NYC or Boston... B-more is probably cheaper, but I wasn't a fan of the city (though others on here obviously have different opinions).

If you ever go hunting down that Italian singer-songwriter in Europe that you posted about like a year ago, you've got a place to crash in Switzerland... Italy is a short (and probably fairly cheap) train ride away... it's right across the border.

ShawnRefuse - 8-18-2010 at 06:48 PM

Boston needs a good printer, and I need an escape. So........

Actually, if you move it to RI you would be close to a lot of markets, Josh and I could come on (wink wink) and I could get you a shit ton of referrals.

Just saying. (I am looking for a side project too, maybe Josh on guitar, you on bass....or vice versa)

I think it's safe to say whatever, wherever you are, you have at least a dozen people watching your back (all the "Thorp Warriors")
