Listening now. Not bad. Reminds me of a rougher version of Reno Divorce (http://www.myspace.com/renodivorceonlinecom), which isn't a bad thing.

wez138 - 8-20-2010 at 04:46 PM

Yeah........They remind of Hot water music,The beltones, early Skrewdriver and leatherface.

Funny thing is they've been going longer bar skrewdriver.

I never listened to Hot Water Music. The music sounds a bit like a more melodic version of The Beltones, so I can see that connection. Not hearing the Skrewdriver at all, and I'm guessing you mean the Boots & Braces era Skrewdriver. The Beltones have a Skrewdriver-esque sound with the stripped down guitars and Bill sounding like Ian Stuart after a 2-pack-a-day lifetime habit, but I'm not hearing it with The Great St. Louis... too melodic (a good thing) and the singer doesn't sound like he polished his voice with sandpaper.

I think it's the production on the video, I was thinking vocal wise with the connections as when live the singer has always sounded alot rougher and they've added a new member....And yeah the freedom of speech boots and braces release. You checked out leatherface yet?

If not check out the albums mush and cherryknowle.

I dig it.

Never checked out Leatherface, though I thought I should after BD posted some reunion shows a while back (I think). I wanna say that Paulie also gave a big thumbs up to them. I sort of assumed they were some sort of metalcore band for some reason and didn't bother looking into it any further. I might have to check it out and admit my stupidity for sleeping on them for so long, though.

As far away from metal as possible. Think The beltones meets motorhead but pure punk.

That's two bands you've sold me on in the last ten minutes!

wez138 - 8-20-2010 at 05:17 PM

Here to help.

sentrand - 8-20-2010 at 10:47 PM

panzerkreuzer - 8-21-2010 at 10:32 AM

good sound to drink to.

newbreedbrian - 8-21-2010 at 10:40 AM

Not bad, I was gonna say some Snuff and Leatherface influence in there. Not blowing me away but I'd listen to more.

tireironsaint - 8-21-2010 at 12:13 PM

Pretty damn good, I would say Leatherface is the main thing I'm hearing with a slightly beefier guitar sound. Definitely don't hear Beltones or Skrewdriver aside from the vocal style, but Leatherface covers that angle as well. Wasn't really feeling the video, looked a little too 90s alternarock to me, what with all the camera effects and such but I'd pick up their record if I came across it.

I loke it. Odd choice for a band name, but a solid tune.

wez138 - 8-21-2010 at 03:23 PM

The video cost them £100.

And thanks for the kind words i'll pass them on.

Dave - 8-21-2010 at 03:53 PM
