How the fuck can a guitarist be considered the front man for a band?

spyderdog - 8-27-2010 at 11:26 PM

I can see it :D I don't even know the singers name in AC/DC, when I hear the band name I immediately think of Angus. He's the center of attention when they play live.

HR beat out Halford, that's pretty nuts.

Also the first comment made me laugh considering what Roadrunner had to say about the Metal Edge list ("where's corey taylor and Jonathan davis?!?!")

No wait I just read the second comment, even funnier than the first one. Since they are posted in reverse order I suppose they are last & second last at this time. Here's the second:

"WTF? No Max Cavalera Soulfly/Sepultura, No Geof Tate, No Scott Sapp from Creed , No amazing voice of Klaus Mein Of The Scorpians No Jim Morrison ok ahead of his time but major metal influence, GWARS Odurus Urungus, Joey Ramone, Bret Micheals,Ted Nugent, AND MY MAN FROM THE "D" YOU AINT MET A MOTHERFUCKER LIKE ME,THE STONE COLD PIMP, THE COWBOY, THE BULLGOD, THE AMERICAN BADDASS, THE MAN THAT PUT DETROIT CITY ON THE MAP-KID MOTHER FUCKIN ROCK! KID ROCK IS A GREATEST TOP 10-5 OR 3 LIST! DUH?"

newbreedbrian - 8-28-2010 at 11:11 AM

Not too sure they have any idea what "metal" or "frontman" means. That's some ridiculous nonsense there.

Discipline - 8-28-2010 at 01:33 PM

45 pages of comments. Wow.

barc0debaby - 8-28-2010 at 06:04 PM

At least its not as awful as that Hit Parader list.

and thats why this article exists

I guess if you factor in the influence of punk bands on thrash bands, and then with some of them the later influence of metal on them, that is acceptable. But I don't think of HR when I think of metal.

Colin - 8-29-2010 at 12:48 PM

completely fucked up....half of these people have NOTHING to do with metal, as much as I may be a fan of them. I do enjoy seeing Sakevi of GISM mentioned though. Metals is hippies.....
