Haven't watched the Youtube video yet since my speakers are still packed, but the Yahoo article is a good read.

Were the Mayans right? :D

Every year there's something new that's going to kill us all. At this point I'm indifferent to it all.

if it would fry all electrical wires that would be pretty damn interesting...
hell no more industrial civilization until it could be repaired...
think of the cool shit

back to life by candle light and wood and gas burning stoves...

no more cars, hell nothing other than steam trains and bikes...
to cross the oceans we'd have to use steam again, or sailing ships
people would have to navigate using the stars

no more refrigerators so all food would have to be bought fresh or grown by yourself
no more movies tv or video games, so people would have to read and talk to one another in person
money would be worthless since the majority of it is digital anyhow

hell I really like this idea
talking modern society and dropping it straight into 17/1800's
but with a few billion more people and no one who knows how to survive in a society like this
other than those who live in 3rd world countries...

would there be rioting and insanity oh hell yeah, since we would have no way of mass communicating
health care would be instantly non existent
yeah it would be interesting for sure
like a giant emp wiping out the power grid for the entire world...

It'd be The Road or Book of Eli, IMO. People now would go apeshit if they couldn't have their internet and tv.

Sharpen your blades and get locked and loaded, because if that were to happen shit would hit the fan.

lifeisabitch - 8-29-2010 at 11:31 AM

yes the shit will hit the fan, but that would be okay
and after that people would figure out how to coexist again...
without those modern "necessities"

JawnDiablo - 8-29-2010 at 11:34 AM

in this situation I'd prefer to live in much more of a rural setting and not shooting distance from the clutches of Killadelphia.

with all the end of things films i have watched i could see something of these mass proportions happening someday to put nature back in control of things.
