after eight years of faithful service, my canon s230 digital camera is on its last legs, so i'm in the market for a new point and shoot.
i'm looking for something compact in size that does (at least) a reasonable job of recording video (think, 'at the show' video). it doesn't need to
be perfect, but when i record a band at a show, i don't want the video to be all washed out (eh-hem, s230) and the audio to be clipping (eh-hem,
iphone 3gs).
lemm know what you've got, how it works, or any other recommendations you may have.

I wouldnt mind a compact camera for taking to shows, i have a Nikon that is pocket size but the audio distorts badly...
So i always end up taking this to shows, not pocket size at all tho, but i can get some good shots/video with it.

Thanks, Dave.
I'll check youtube for lives footage shot with that Sony.
Companies seem to be pushing those 'bridge' cameras hard.
And since everyone else clearly hates their camera, let me know what it is you have so I don't buy one of those by mistake!
