JawnDiablo - 9-4-2010 at 12:36 PM

I think I wanna drink something tasty and strong tonight

Colin - 9-4-2010 at 02:23 PM

let's see....I was drinking Ska Brewing (local brewery) True Blonde Ale, keeping my roomate awake with Poison Idea, Sheer Terror, Wesley Willis, Turbonegro, Templars, & Discharge, then I watched New Jack City. Oh, & I can't forget Fucked Up. Had a friend over who is into all the new school hardcore bands I really know nothing about, but he's forced me to listen to them, & I'm not down. I've been trying to show him some real shit

Jason the Magnificent - 9-4-2010 at 03:57 PM

Ska is amazing. Modus Hoperandi is one of my top 5 IPA's, their ESB is killer too, but that True Blonde tastes like air. I'm not a fan of Blonde Ales, but I've loved everything Ska so when I got those in a variety pack I gave them a fair chance. The other 4 cans helped cook some sausage, lol.

wez138 - 9-4-2010 at 07:15 PM

Drinking straight grants whiskey............

Listening to nine below zero....Great mod revive from the 80's.

JawnDiablo - 9-4-2010 at 09:28 PM

PBR and white castles

tireironsaint - 9-4-2010 at 09:33 PM

Just grabbed the new Street Dogs and new(ish) live Real McKenzies albums on my way home from work tonight. Gonna use those and possibly a pizza to kill the pain of no days off this week and only one day off last week. Just seven more days until I can rest.

Discipline - 9-4-2010 at 10:50 PM

I didn't know they had a new live album. I need to check that out.

CR83 - 9-4-2010 at 11:10 PM

Caffeine free green tea and just watched this band's video:

just curious, where did you buy them? I've always wondered how far outside of Durango you can find them, most places I've heard of only sell Pinstripe

jcarter - 9-5-2010 at 03:19 AM

Budweiser and Derrick Morgan..

Chicago area...we get most of the bombers, though I see Decadent the most as well as all the flagship 6 packs in bottles and cans (pinstripe, modus, esb, blonde etc). Don't often see it on draft though.

Once in a while depending on production though we do get "shortages".

Theres a bar half mile away from me that has IPA Fridays with $3.50 cans of Modus...can't beat it.

tireironsaint - 9-5-2010 at 09:35 AM

Colin, a friend of mine sells for Ska and they're making their way into a much bigger market. I know they made a trip last summer down to Texas to get it into Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Not sure how well they did, but they're working on expanding.

Jason the Magnificent - 9-5-2010 at 10:53 AM

I wish Oskar Blues would make its way out here. Only time I ever had that was at the GABF last year but everything I tried was great. I love craft beer in cans...stays fresh a lot longer and no bottle opener requirement is always a good thing.

Colin - 9-5-2010 at 01:05 PM

glad to see Ska making it's way into the market, the farthest I've seen it was Pinstripe at 1 store in Portland OR when I lived up there. I had a lot of tourists this weekend buying it to take home with 'em at the liquor store I work at. We just sold out of the new Ska double Euphoria IPA bomber called Dementia, not a big IPA fan, but I thought it was damn good. I've seen the Oskar Blues around town for a while, not at our store, but I'll have to try it

Jason the Magnificent - 9-5-2010 at 03:19 PM

I'd like to try that Euphoria. I love their Decadent, but the problem is with really hoppy beers like that, the hops fade so fast that w/o any dating (that I can find) on the Ska bombers I'm afraid to buy it. I've had it really fresh and it's amazing. I've also had old ones that turned way too sweet so I generally steer clear of that one.

Just to clarify, it's a live ACOUSTIC album. I was too tired to even get around to listening to either of the two albums I mentioned last night, but I'm listening now and they're both great!

JawnDiablo - 9-5-2010 at 09:07 PM

I went to a BBQ in a local park today.
tons of beer
tons of meat
pork loin
chicken wings
burgers
hot sausage
dogs
ny strip

at the end of it all, a dude drove his truck over and blasted NEGLECT.
I don't think that cd ever sounded as hard as it did just then.
had a dude say he wanted to pay me $100 for my Camo Sheer Terror shirt with GI Jah bulldogs....needless to say, I know he is not good for it.

Colin - 2-15-2011 at 02:36 AM

Ayinger Dopplebock was amazingly good, that brewery has never let me down in the slightest way
