Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

I took my 6 y/o daughter to her first show

BDx13 - 9-9-2010 at 03:15 PM

Just now getting around to posting this...

My daughter accompanied me to day two of This Is Hardcore. She doesn't actually like listening to aggressive music, but she loves that Dad runs a label and she thinks it's cool that she knows people who are in bands. She and her brother LOVE IT when bands on tour crash at our place.

Anyway, we only went for a few hours in the evening, but it was a blast. There were a number of people there that she already knew including our own M.Alki, Charlotte, Vince & Anne, and Uncle Rennie, and she was excited to meet new people with fun names like Juice and Human Furnace. There were a couple other kids there (Joe Hardcore's daughter and Harry from Starkweather's two kids), so that helped keep her entertained.

She got to see parts of Outbreak, Foundation, Ringworm and Bull Doze. We watched Starkweather from the stage, but she wouldn't keep still and there's a lot to trip over up there so we took a pizza break mid-set. As you can imagine, stage dives were simultaneously the coolest and most confusing element of the day. Both my kids are all about stage dives right now.

Thanks to my girl Anne Spina for this...

AWESOME

This is another favorite - my three year old son with Bulldog Courage. He made James watch Saturday morning cartoons with him for like an hour.

BDx13 - 9-9-2010 at 06:54 PM

i bought that KT shirt for her at their first (recent) reunion back in 05. She was only 1 at the time, so I was kind of planning ahead. She has one of those cammo Sheer Terror shirts now, too.

Awesome. My son's first show will probably end up being H2O. He loves that band.

I love the industrial earphones, they make the photo.

My parents NEVER would have done that. They wouldn't even take me to see wrestling because they thought it was stupid.

Dave - 9-10-2010 at 03:34 PM

my grandmother, used to take to me see Atlantic grand prix wrestling when i was a kid, it was great.
