i LOVE cheese, but it is just so bad for you, it's not even funny. calories, fat, cholesterol. ug.

newbreedbrian - 9-23-2010 at 10:29 AM

You forgot sodium :spin: Cheese pretty much rules all, especially stinky cheese.........mmmm stinky cheese.

Colin - 9-23-2010 at 02:48 PM

cheese is my vice, & I'm allergic to dairy (makes me mucousy), & if I get hammered enough, I'm known to eat a block of cheese, especially my roomates since I try not to buy it. I've been on/off buying almond cheese for the past 4 years, & it's the only "fake" cheese that tastes & melts like real cheese. It's got 2% fat & 0% saturated fat per slice, & almonds are great for you. A little pricy unless you compare it to organic cheeses, then it's usually the same if not cheaper. If I get drunk & eat a block of that I don't feel guilty the next day....

Almond cheese? I'm gonna have to search that out. I likes me some cheese. I also need to try almond butter some time.

Quality cheese isn't that bad. Like a lot of things that are "bad" for you it all draws back to personal responsibility. Just like chocolate and alcohol, good in small doses but most people take it way too far.

Except string, sliced, and canned cheese....those are just abominations of God.

As far as store bought almond substitutes, they are grossly over manufactured. Nothing made from almonds should have 2% fat, an almond is composed of roughly 70% fat and the saturated fat is monosaturated which is beneficial in lowering bad cholesterol. Almond milk and cheese is really easy to make though, home made almond milk is a great energy booster.
