gavin - 10-13-2010 at 04:51 PM

i heard the whole ep
i think it rules
best thing he has done since the group sex album
sounds like the nervous breakdown ep and that is just perfect by me

ShawnRefuse - 10-13-2010 at 05:00 PM

I like it a lot too. Wish they were coming to Boston.

gavin - 10-13-2010 at 05:04 PM

funny thing is i had words with the guitar player years ago when he worked in a shitty record store in philly.
BUT, i've gotten past the fact that i think he is a douche and am able to like this band.
i've come so far in my "getting well" process

Thorp should sign them..........

barc0debaby - 10-13-2010 at 06:30 PM

Digging it.

Keith Morris interviews make me think of a punk rock Mort from family.

JawnDiablo - 10-13-2010 at 06:36 PM

strange because some songs off group sex came on my ipod in the car earlier and i said something to my girl to the degree of Keith Morris bla bla bla great singer bla bla bands these days are gay bla

No, just four. You can pre-order a box set version of the four records. I already did that, sounds like great stuff. They've been playing a LOT of one off shows and festivals lately. They're one of the few bands on this year's Fun Fun Fun Fest line up that I'd really like to see, but again, I won't be able to afford to make it down this year.

JawnDiablo - 10-13-2010 at 10:24 PM

4 eps as in records?
or these gonna be on a cd all at once down the road mayba?
I don't even own a record player

tireironsaint - 10-13-2010 at 11:08 PM

I think it's supposed to be released on CD after the records all come out next month. I'm pretty sure they're gonna do iTunes too. I think if you go to the Vice Records site they have that Upside Down song available for free download, I know they did a while back, but I dunno if that's changed now that the first record is out.

REV.PAULIE - 10-14-2010 at 04:03 AM

Not digging this at all...I think if it was some random kid singing,no one would give a crap.

i was gonna post essentially the same thing

im sure scenester kids are ALL over this though

Jason the Magnificent - 10-14-2010 at 05:48 AM

They opened for the Cro Mags Sat night...I sat downstairs in the bar while they played.

tireironsaint - 10-14-2010 at 10:36 AM

Meh, to each their own, I think this stuff is great. I've always been into Keith's bands, but if some kids nobody had ever heard of were pulling off this sound and style I'd still dig it. I'll take this over the metallic, thugged out shit most people call hard core these days any day of the week.

JawnDiablo - 10-14-2010 at 10:44 AM

I agree.

gavin - 10-14-2010 at 11:19 AM

i think i would like it regardless of who was singing cuz i just like bands like this...even though there arent any anymore
and what scenster kids are you speaking of that are all over this?
it's not faggot metal enough for scene kids to like
i dont see anyone but old heads liking this

Vanilla Gorilla - 10-14-2010 at 11:35 AM

I dig this, i like that it kind of has the Nervouse Breakdown feel to it, but I guess that's because of Keith. I also agree with Gavin that I don't see scene kids being into it

Johnny_Whistle - 10-14-2010 at 11:43 AM

Yeah I agree. I like it because it has a nice old school punk feel to it. I'd like it whether Keith was involved or not.

yes and no...

if these kids didn't have Keith would they be getting on the shows and festivals that they are playing, nope not a chance...

but would they still be playing good old style punk/hardcore and I'd still like it.

it's actually the opposite of this.
the guitar player was in this douchebag band called the burning brides that actually did really well
and i think one of the dudes was in that hot snakes band that i also believe did well
the drummer guy was in redd cross i think
i think keith is the person who got them all together to be in this sort of band

gavin - 10-14-2010 at 12:08 PM

paul does have a point in a way...
if it was THESE dudes, without keith, i would have no time for it at all
if it was some other dudes without keith, i'd be into it

as i said, i hate the guitar player guy

JawnDiablo - 10-14-2010 at 12:11 PM

ha funny someone gave me a burning brides cd and i tossed it after 2 songs cuz I didn't like it one bit.........

I wish I'd been able to see OFF! during Riot Fest. Caught the Circle Jerks though. Sounded decent.

joey - 10-14-2010 at 03:35 PM

gavin:
The bass player was in redd cross.
The drummer was in rocket from the crypt, battalion of saints, and a few others.
Mario Rubalcaba(sp?) is an old school skater(late 80's- early 90's)
I thought I recognized that name from somewhere.
If it wasn't for skating, I might never have started listening to punk.

ahh...that's it ...rocket from the crypt
all those bands are the same in my head

scene kids around here are all in to the punk based stuff now

they kinda went from emo, to deathcore, to indie rock, and now its bad club hip hop shit and heavily punk based stuff

log onto the b9 for ten minutes

all the bands kids are jocking on there are like this

JawnDiablo - 10-14-2010 at 11:19 PM

i could care less about who does what and who likes what
I like it
a lot

and more or less for the same reason I like Geoff's band, The Bad Vibes.

It's the kind of punk rock I WANT to hear.

good nite

REV.PAULIE - 10-15-2010 at 05:09 AM

For ME? It just sounds like simplified "Punk" because the singer may still be pissed, but just doesn't want to expound, anymore. As a lover of the written word, whereas I can understand that notion (Again,I'm GUESSING here_,)it's understandable to need to howl at the moon...'Just,not all us dogs are gonna howl back...I guess I expect more from those I grew up listening to...Or.I WANT more.
