How else do you celebrate 30 years as the world’s longest running and most prolific punk band?

I don't think that statement is true. The Business, for one, has been around longer, and I believe the Adicts have been going since around '75 or so.

I'm not a big fan of them, but I did get Greg Hetsons autograph at the Circle Jerks 10th anniversary show when I was in highschool. Wonder what thats worth!?! ; )

Dayglo Abortions are 30 years old this year. Buy their shit as it's better than anything Bad Religion has/will release.

XnMeX - 10-20-2010 at 02:15 PM

I like one song by them... ALL of them.

AKA: It all sounds the same to me (what I have heard) but I like it.

JawnDiablo - 10-20-2010 at 02:35 PM

i like some of their stuff but not enough to spend money on a box

first punk band I got into, back in 3rd grade, they used to play 'em on the local "alternative rock" station. Them & the Scorpions were my two favorite bands around that time. I thought they were a heavy metal band until 4th grade when my buddy schooled me & turned me on to a little bit of punk rock. They've got some OK songs, I think I've only owned 2 of their albums, neither of which I have anymore or plan on buying again.

BDx13 - 10-20-2010 at 10:19 PM

that's a nice presentation.
i'm sure fans will gobble it up.
the only thing i ever had of theirs was 80-85.
i was never really a fan.
that said, We're Only Gonna Die is one of my all time favorite songs.

Love Bad Religion but don't have the money to drop on something like that.

Six66Mike - 10-21-2010 at 02:33 AM

Just wait, now NOFX will want to do the same thing including all their 7" releases too.

That's a hell of a lot of money to throw away on garbage like that. Honestly, I'm kinda like BD in that I kinda got into the 80-85 album for a minute after a bunch of my friends tricked me into thinking they were decent, but the novelty wore off pretty quick and I've gone back to thinking they were boring and vastly overrated ever since.

Definitely not the longest running continuous Punk band either. Even aside from other bands that have held it together longer, from what I recall they called it quits a time or two back in the day. Weren't they dead for a while after they made that failed attempt to cash in on the New Wave gravy train?

Discipline - 10-21-2010 at 09:59 PM

I do like a few of their albums, but there's no way in hell I would ever spend that kind of cash on them.

soulless - 10-27-2010 at 04:57 AM

some group of people out there are probably gonna be all over it because of the inclusion of into the unknown. am i right in thinking that's the first time it's officially being released?

me, i'm a fan. but having all the albums, and letting my brother borrow (and subsequently break) my turntable, no real appeal in dropping 200 bucks here.

newbreedbrian - 10-27-2010 at 06:26 AM

It's the first reprint/reissue of it since it came out in like 84 or somewhere thereabouts. I've had the original pressing for a long time, but I can't say I'd recommend it. It's just brutally awful honestly.

3rdDistrict - 10-27-2010 at 06:44 AM

bad religion is awesome
they were great on sunday
early 80s LA punk > everything else
