1. how is it that this guy had one job as a reporter on NPR and one job as a commentator on FOX and this DIDN'T become an issue sooner?
2. immediately after getting fired from NPR for the comments he made on FOX, FOX gave him a NEW, $2M contract.
3. the conservatives making the most noise about the firing are people that also have contracts w/ FOX (palin, huckabee).
NPR get so little money from the the federal gov't, i'd be happy to see them decide to turn it away. unfortunately, these morons would still find a
way to turn that into a victory for their side.

Yeah.
At first I thought Williams shouldn't have been fired, but if it's a violation of the NPR code of ethics that he had to sign onto for his contract
it's a violation. Worse yet, the guy's defense against this is "NPR is trying to enforce ideology" and not "I was making a larger point about how we
need to get over our prejudices" and thus the firing was inappropriate. He's basically acting like an ass, and a fucking greedy one at that.

My girlfriend works for the NPR affiliate in Providence, and the big conversation among stations is about all the people calling to say they wouldn't
be donating any more money. The funny thing is, none of the people making that threat can be found on anyone's donor rolls anyway, so it's not like
these people were big supporters of NPR in the first place.
Juan Williams is a tool, and this was a long time coming.
