JawnDiablo - 6-21-2005 at 11:43 PM

you know i was thinking the other day what a treat it would be to find a hoagie/sub/ something samich bar (like a self serve salad bar where you could build your own heart stopper,,pick from multiple breads, cheeses, condiments, and of course all the fancy italian lunch meats would have to be on hand, capicola, proscuito, genoa salami, sarp provalone, peppers in olive oil, pulled pork...it would be cool

Submarine, grinder, hero, hoagie, Italian sandwich, poor boy, sub, torpedo... i love 'em all.

when i've got the hunger for a hoagie, i just go see my man mike at the local butcher, Los Paisanos. god DAMN they make some heart stoppers in that joint!

only people in philly and the area call them hoagies
i have no idea why
we are kinda retarded perhaps

moron - 6-23-2005 at 05:05 PM

there's plenty of different terms for these fucking sandwiches. I grew up calling them Grinders. Never said Hoagie. Sounds too stupid. haha

I usually get the same thing every time I go to Subway. Subway club with lettuce, tomato, green peppers and oil and vinegar. Quiznos I havent had too much of, but they get points for having guacamole. That makes a sandwich a million times better.

BDx13 - 6-23-2005 at 05:14 PM

i haven't lived in philly for years, and i still can't get HOAGIE out of my vocabulary. same goes for JIMMIES. everyone else in the world puts sprinkles on their ice cream sundays. NOT philadelphians!

moron - 6-23-2005 at 05:15 PM

Ive heard Jimmies used in CT. That's another dumb word. What the fuck? Philly is fucked up.

ENDERA.x - 6-23-2005 at 06:33 PM

Jimmies haha

Quiznos is good but not as good as people say.

Mr. Subbs Grilled Chicken(really microwaved but fuck it tastes good) with cheese, bacon and lettuce. It was down the street from my apartment in troy.

Other than that, I stick to local joints for the most part.

PA people that say Hoagies are funny though. Some of YOUZ like to accentuate the O. I know my roommates did. Some of buds did as well.
