Where the fuck was I this year...
who are these bands, and how the fuck were they the best of 2010...

I used to really try to keep up with the younger set, always looking for something new, but god damn...

sentrand - 12-28-2010 at 02:58 PM

no clue who any of them are.

XHonusWagnerX - 12-28-2010 at 03:20 PM

I have never heard of any of those bands!

Colin - 12-28-2010 at 03:22 PM

me either

Discipline - 12-28-2010 at 03:40 PM

Never heard of any of them, and what's with all of the cassette releases? Is that the cool thing now?

Murk - 12-28-2010 at 04:16 PM

never heard of any of the either, but Whorebutcher and Drunkdriver are great band names.

panzerkreuzer - 12-28-2010 at 05:00 PM

tireironsaint - 12-29-2010 at 02:46 AM

Never heard a single one of those.

spyderdog - 12-29-2010 at 03:30 AM

this is all hipster shit

its basically emo kids refusing to let go and just go be club djs

essentially phoenix is 100% full of these kids

Johnny_Whistle - 12-29-2010 at 08:55 AM

Yay, we're ALL outa the loop together!

Something tells me we're not missing much.

Dave - 12-29-2010 at 10:46 AM

Never Heard of any of them......and by the sounds of their names i dont think id like them anyways.

Colin - 12-29-2010 at 02:44 PM

most these band names say to me "we try too hard pretending to be deep & intellectual", "we sometimes wear eye makeup to accentuate the darkness & misery in our souls, but don't call us emo, we're hardcore, like Evergreen Terrace", & "my parents bought me Pro-Tools & converted their 3rd garage into a fancy recording studio for my birthday, I will use it to release our next EP on limited cassette in an attempt to appeal to post-Municipal Waste thrash fans".

Maybe I'm too quick to come to conclusions though

lifeisabitch - 12-29-2010 at 02:56 PM

i'm gonna try finding some and will report back...
but yeah my hopes are not high

BDx13 - 12-29-2010 at 06:25 PM

who cares what they sound like...make 'em buy merch!

random - 12-29-2010 at 06:57 PM

The fact that there's not a "CD" or "digital download" on the kid's list is a good sign I don't share his tastes. I know some people like vinyl, but fuck... this "retro" shit has gone too far.

And cassettes? Really? Cassettes fucking sucked in the 80s, which is why a little thing called a compact disc was so awesome when it hit the market.

Whatever. I guess the novelty aspect is all the rage since anyone buying 17 colors of cassette (if it hasn't been done yet, Bridge 9 has it in the concept phase already) will also just download the thing off the internet and have it on their iPhone anyway.

Oh, and I don't recognize a single one of those bands, but they all sound like the dumbed down (musically and lyrically) version of all the retarded Nietzschean philosophical death metal shit out there, and that shit wasn't good to begin with.

I like the cassettes I bought in the 90's when cassettes were actually still common, & I would've bought that OFF! cassette if I had $6 when it was for sale (but didn't), some of them are a bit warped, but lasted longer than the CD's I was buying then. Still listen to them fairly regularly. But I gotta laugh at cassette releases these days, it's kinda cool, but only because I still own tape decks, but not for any "novelty" reason
