interesting.
I also passed on this last one with the dick comment I made to friends "but they only have 3 songs?"

clevohardcore - 1-10-2011 at 03:58 PM

helmet rule.

Murk - 1-10-2011 at 08:47 PM

Saint Vitus is back together?

MikeFromInhuman - 1-10-2011 at 09:31 PM

Helmet - a few good songs.
Sorry.

lifeisabitch - 1-10-2011 at 09:55 PM

Don't forget stealing the HC image too...

spyderdog - 1-10-2011 at 11:57 PM

they kicked ass

gavin - 1-11-2011 at 01:36 AM

Hated them the first time

3rdDistrict - 1-11-2011 at 07:31 AM

i am a HUGE helmet fan
but paige blew his voice out years ago, and sound nothing like they did when i saw them 15 years ago

JawnDiablo - 1-11-2011 at 07:51 AM

They've been playing regularly sporadic (if that makes sense) shows for a while now.

Def going to this for St Vitus. Never got a chance to see them.

Crowbar is ok, hopefully they headline so I can leave after a couple songs if I get bored...and I like that one song Helmet had about being "too sexy for their shirt", other than that...

BDx13 - 1-11-2011 at 10:53 AM

some of those songs from the first two albums are awesome. you can kill people on the dance floor to that shit. that's the main reason why i blew off their recent tour, and why this tour is so appealing - i don't wanna hear a bunch of new stuff i don't know and hope they play one or two songs i do.

mike, what do you mean they stole the hc image? from what i remember, those dudes didn't have any image! every time i saw them they were wearing jeans and a tshirt or shorts with a striped long sleeve - super plain! besides, while band of susans wasn't very hardcore, page must have been into that scene - didn't he have guitarists from rest in pieces and orange 9 at one time or another?

funniest lambgoat comment:
"old men getting flu shots are stoked"

JawnDiablo - 1-11-2011 at 11:51 AM

weirdest thing is that Page Hamilton is a seasoned Jazz musician or at least studied it.
Meantime was solid.
Betty had some good tracks.
I can't remember anything of strap it on or born annoying

Discipline - 1-11-2011 at 12:23 PM

I remember seeing them open for Ministry back in '91 and thought they were great. I saw them a few times in the early to mid 90's and always had a good time.

3rdDistrict - 1-11-2011 at 12:50 PM

Peter Mengede recorded on meantime, and left to form Handsome. Then Rob Echeverria joined after meantime came out. He was in Rest in Pieces. Then quit to join biohazard and was replaced by Chris Traynor from Orange 9mm (who also played with Rival Schools and Bush after he left Helmet)
John Tempesta of testament, exodus, and white zombie was also the drummer for a little bit.
also frank bello of anthrax.

amazingly, i knew most of this off the top of my head... but found this out too, whcih rules;
Jeremy Chatelain played bass recently for helmet. He sang for handsome, was in jets to brazil, and fucking INSIGHT from salt lake, who were on some of the earlier victory comps, and ICEBURN

yeh

lifeisabitch - 1-19-2011 at 12:09 PM

one eyed jacks is a small lil club
will be full of overweight old guys

XHonusWagnerX - 1-19-2011 at 12:42 PM

I saw them open for Ministry in the 90's too and they were good. I think I saw them open for Faith No More too.

I LOVE the song Wilmas Rainbow.

I dont think they had a 'hardcore image' if I remember right. They just had that classic Amphetamine Reptile semi-grungy look.

JawnDiablo - 1-19-2011 at 03:16 PM

all the dudes who I knew who sold really good weed back in the mid 90s totally dug Helmet for some reason.
Wilmas Rainbow is excellent.
