Man, I wish Madball could write a better chorus these days. Sometimes they nail it on the head, sometimes its just the same chugga chugga all the way through. Still gotta love em though.

Jason the Magnificent - 2-3-2011 at 07:34 PM

I'd rather be listening to Bolt Thrower.

Discipline - 2-3-2011 at 07:50 PM

Sounds like standard Madball, so I'm loving it.

clevohardcore - 2-3-2011 at 09:18 PM

Great fucking tune. I love the album. Listen to it all the time. They never made a bad record. Ever.

JawnDiablo - 2-3-2011 at 10:13 PM

i found this last record uninteresting.
sorry

It's not that the song is "bad" it's just so damn monotonous.

well yeah that's what I mean
I'm just tired of the formula.

Jason the Magnificent - 2-4-2011 at 07:13 AM

Yeah, that's what I don't get. They are clearly not bad musicians...everyone in that band has skill and a track record of great albums. I don't even know that the formula is whats bad...because I know for a fact if they put out a formula album with actual hooks and memorable songs I'd be all over it.

This stuff just seems like they're phoning it in because they can. If they didn't have the song title in the chorus you wouldn't be able to tell one song from the next.

bombidol - 2-4-2011 at 08:38 AM

Current Madball sound with a pinch of Oi would be amazing. Gang vocal choruses etc.

clevohardcore - 2-4-2011 at 09:36 AM

They can keep phoning it in and I'll answer. Good stuff.

I love Madball. I have always loved Madball and always will. Calling them horrible is laughable to me. I mean come on now. Sounds like the same bunch of puffs that sit around wanking to the Clash. You disco nerds.

BKT.

JawnDiablo - 2-6-2011 at 09:53 AM

I guess from here on out I'll change all my opinions to match those of others so I can fit in better around here.

Jason the Magnificent - 2-6-2011 at 10:39 AM

lol...IMO the new Madball is even MORE boring than the clash.

tireironsaint - 2-6-2011 at 12:08 PM

Hilarious. At their peak The Clash were one of the best bands the world has produced. On the other hand, Madball at their peak were most of Agnostic Front making a novelty record with a little kid on vocals.

Jason the Magnificent - 2-6-2011 at 12:52 PM

So were the Beatles...and at one point in time some guy with a powdered wig playing a harp. That doesn't mean people have to find them enthralling.

And just because that's the only era of the band you enjoyed hardly makes it their "peak".

I'm far from arguing Madball is a more "important" band that the Clash...that's an idiotic argument. That still doesn't mean I have to not be bored by them.

JawnDiablo - 2-6-2011 at 02:22 PM

I just gave it another shot.
Nothing memorable.

Ya I know I tried listening to the Clash again as well and they still sound like shitty disco. Glad we agree.

Honestly, my comment had nothing to do with your statement, I was just laughing about anyone bringing The Clash into a discussion on something like Madball. I never meant to imply that everybody is required to find the music of The Clash to be the most exciting thing they ever heard, just pointing out that one is a musically important band that deserves to rank pretty highly on a historical scale and the other isn't even worth a mention. By calling that first record Madball's "peak", my meaning was that I find it to be their most creative point, everything they've done since then follows a formula I find to be not only boring, but forced.

My original comment in this thread was meant to be a humorous interjection in a conversation amongst friends. I think it's hilarious that someone was so threatened by it they had to drag in a much better band that has nothing to do with this at all in an attempt to make it some sort of "either/or" scenario between two things that have nothing in common besides basic instrumentation.

Threatened? Jesus fuck buddy. Are you so void of any sense of humor that you really took it that seriously. I would say its been a long running thing on here that I talk shit about the Clash and I use my dislike of them as a joke now more then anything. I was also drunk when I wrote that. You should try it sometime.

Threatened. Ya that's it.

BKT.
