I guess if you can't dig 'em now, you probably never will. To me it's like some shreiking angelic banshee, & in a good way. That, added with extremely talented musicians pounding the fuck outta their instruments with incredible timing, & considering music like this was virtually unheard of at the time it came out, & I hate to add the race card in, but the hardcore scene still has very few black musicians or fans, so people that hear Bad Brains for their first time to this day are surprised when I tell them it's a band of all black Rasta guys.

That's probably a good start to why they've been one of my favorite bands since the first time they were played for me 14 years ago or so

i saw them in 89 or 90 together with a german band jingo de lunch which i liked a lot, and they were good on stage (bad brains) and i have the live at cbgb´s dvd, where play an very energetic set, but the vocals kill a lot for me.
but, right brigade is one of my all time favorite songs!

I saw them on the Rise tour and even without HR on vocals they blew me away.
I saw them back with HR a couple years back (along with Thorp's own Danny 3rdDistrict before he was blacklisted by UK customs!) and it was uh... awkward.
Question is, if HR isn't fit to do it anymore, who'd be a good replacement?
The only person I can think of that could pull it off is Angelo from Fishbone.
