Makes you think that all this hatred and evil in the world should be squashed, but reality is humans are idiots and will quickly forget the disasters. Then continue of with the political, evil, greedy, selfish, religious/non-religious bullshit.

Watched it on the news for a while when I got home. Saw glimpses at uni and on the way home from class but didn't know it was 8.9 til I got in the house.

One video in the office showed how long it lasted in Tokyo and how much shit moved. The thing shook for a solid 2-3 minutes, that's insane.

Aftershocks (I hate that word, they are just more earthquakes...) are expected to hit over magnitude 7.

yep, I honestly have very little if any hope at all for our species, considering we as a whole seem to never learn from our mistakes. Sounds kinda fucked, but we are so overpopulated that while events like this are sad to me & I feel for the people effected, we need to seriously have our population thinned out if we want this planet to survive

MikeResist - 3-11-2011 at 10:49 AM

It's the end of the world, as we know it, and I feel fine.

You know, my only problem with the whole overpopulation thing is that responsibility for "thinning the herd" is almost always foisted upon Third World peoples. The over consumption of the First World is almost never considered. And so the whole idea always comes off rather racist, and it doesn't help that the father of the overpopulation problem was himself a racist douchebag eugenicist.

I'm a firm believer that there will one day be a reckoning for all that we've done, as a species, to ourselves, our planet and all beings upon it. And how the hell do we propose the heard be thinned? Most likely it will be through wars, famine, disease and disaster. Genocide has surely crossed the minds of some...

You know, the thing of it is... when a global scale disaster strikes it's the developed world that will take the brunt of it. We've become over dependent upon technology and modern convenience and we build or metropolises in vulnerable areas.

Man the death toll is going to be insane...

clevohardcore - 3-14-2011 at 11:06 PM

Man, I am going to say something, it may be funny and it is not meant to be mean or anything, but while watching this video posted again, I thought man there goes a lot of good hardcore vinyl. Yes, I know this is not the time to think of that, they do own most of the vinyl that we needed to sell because most of us are broke and needed cash. I have mailed out my share of records and shirts that way from ebay.
