So excited. Tomorrow at 12:30 Mrs. R83 takes me in. I hope she remembers to come back and get me.

I second this. I have been thinking about it but still on the fence.
Either way, good luck to you and your eyes. Vanilla Gorilla - 4-1-2011 at 09:07 AM

Embarrassingly, I got it off of Groupon. We actually got money back from taxes (now that I don't have a job that has commission) and we were talking
to our tax man the night we prepared our taxes and we were talking about LASIK. I said that I'd get it in a second. No consult, just hook me up. Mrs.
R83 got the e-mail next morning on her phone and she said, "You just got LASIK Buddy."
It's a well known place around here. We know about 6 people who have gone here.
My total is $2,400. This is 49% of the typical cost. They needed 5 people to buy it in order to get the deal. They got like 58 people to buy.
I'll report back as soon as I can see.Colin - 4-1-2011 at 09:53 AM
good luck with that manBDx13 - 4-1-2011 at 09:57 AM
wow, congratulations. buying surgery on groupon sounds dodgy as shit, but if it's a reputable local place, then that's different. good luck. i'm
envious. CR83 - 4-1-2011 at 12:44 PM

Oh totally sounds sketchy. This joint has been around for a long time and the folks we know are pretty wealthy and connected so they don't go to shit
joints. That helps Mrs. R83 a whole lot.
It's solid thankfully. Headed out in 30. Can't wait.clevohardcore - 4-1-2011 at 02:51 PM
I WANT TO DO THIS. I guess the wife and I can use our our insurance balance at the end of the year if we don't use our total amount. We hvae a $5,000
allowance. Furly - 4-1-2011 at 04:47 PM
A friend of mine just had it done. Now he's crazy with having to tell everyone how it's the best thing he ever did. He LOVES it.
Hope all goes well. XHonusWagnerX - 4-1-2011 at 04:52 PM
good luck/congrats!
I totally understand why everyone wants to get this done, but I identify with my glasses to much. I feel like they are part of who I am... or at least
something to hide behind!CR83 - 4-2-2011 at 07:23 AM
OK, it's 6:15 am the next day. I can totally fucking see. This is really wild.
Process took 20 minutes. The actual "lasering" took about 5 seconds per eye and you could smell the burned tissue. Not a big deal, it was mild. The
toughest part is the clamp things they put in your eye socket to keep them open and then so they can suction your eye (so it stays in place) to make
the "flap". The eerie part is when the put the flap back over your eye (when laser is done) you can see a little better and you realize, "holy shit
there is a flap cut on my eyeball". You have no feeling in your eye ball. Totally numb. They give you Xanax before the operation and for after. I
have been asleep since 2 PM yesterday which has been a luxury.
OK, I'm less than a day in but all in all seems like all is well. Bottom line, I can see great and no contacts or glasses which is something I have
had since 7th grade. It's a little crazy.
Thanks all. You all, as always, are the best.BDx13 - 4-2-2011 at 08:42 AM
fuck. i'm squirming on my couch just reading about the procedure. man, i'd need to triple up on the xanax. stoked for you, though. i dunno about
the rest of you glasses wearers, but i just can't imagine waking up and being able to see correctly.Vanilla Gorilla - 4-2-2011 at 12:52 PM
exactly it would be so great to just wake up and see and not have to put in contacts. I have a bad astigmatism and my contacts are expensive and i
can't sleep with them in, fuck even if i take a nap for a few minutes it fees like they stick to my eyesmorgan - 4-2-2011 at 02:42 PM
Congrats. I wanted to get this done but thy wouldn't do it since I can only see out if one eye.Spoiler - 4-2-2011 at 04:07 PM
Great to hear the surgery went well. I know someone who recently had it done as well.He loved it.Totally worked well for him.He just had a small red
spot on one of his eyes for a few weeks, but besides that...he can see clearly now. Good for you man. I don't wear contacts or glasses and can see
fine. But I do have severe dry eye syndrome. My eyes stay red and burn constantly...and I can barely see outside without sunglasses on...my eyes are
super sensitive to sunlight. I wonder if this lasik thing could help me out? I'll have to ask my doc. Furly - 4-2-2011 at 08:12 PM
Yeah, being able to see the TV, or drive without glasses or contacts, I really couldn't imagine. It's one of those things that I don't think you get
how bad it can suck unless your one of us.
Im happy things are going so far so well! I'm defiantly jelous! DAK - 4-2-2011 at 08:36 PM
Glad to hear it worked.CR83 - 4-2-2011 at 09:55 PM

Yep, I got the same thing Man. Red patch on my eye.
I still can't really believe I can have better than perfect vision without any sort of aid. Totally fucked up.CR83 - 4-2-2011 at 09:57 PM
