I was hoping you would be the one to confirm for obvious reasons :) I am glad your brother is doing well and is getting back together with old friends to do something he loves.

All I need to hear. He's the only dude in music who actually sounds like he means what he's saying. Big influence on my life, at least.(and all my friends)

Will do. I'm glad you had the same thought because I felt guilty as hell saying that. On the other hand, he always rises to the occasion to stuff it down people's throats when he has doubters so maybe we should all join in with the doubt and he'll make the best hardcore record since ....... well I don't really like hardcore so I don't know. Maybe since their last record.

JawnDiablo - 4-6-2011 at 11:08 AM

I'm interested to see what he/they come up with musically on a new record.
I enjoyed the progression to more "rockin" stuff (for lack of a better description on my part) on some of the tracks on Serenity. I also enjoyed the progression in the lyrics (not sure what percentage of the lyrics Rob writes).
Either way, if it happens, when it happens, I foresee greatness.

Mark Lind - 4-6-2011 at 11:24 AM

All kidding aside, I'm sure it will happen. I spoke to Rob for about an hour late last week and he was telling me all about his ideas and the songs he's been working on.

When I first started readin this I was thinking... "Wow, now they are going to record a fucking album without Rob?" I am VERY happy I was wrong about that and VERY excited to hear new music.

Hope this sparks somthing in Rob to make some other / new music in any form (Sinners & Saints, Ramallah, Folk, Polka, Dancehall, Etc... wait a minute...)

I am suprised that no one yet has said "Shut My Eyes Forever" as their least favorite. I HATED that song when I first heard it but it grew on me and I love it now. I was also younger and just wanted more hatred at the time.

Jason the Magnificent - 4-7-2011 at 12:13 PM

That song IMO is where everything changed.

Probably because we're all much older now and have a better perspective on life.

Also happy to hear that a new album is in the works. Part of me really wanted to hear Rob pursue his other musical ventures, but I'm sure this will be amazing if and when it happens.

Listening to Blood for Blood right now and amusing thought just ran through my mind. I find it kinda funny that the band who's lyrics I associate the most with were written by somebody who probably would hate me. I was lucky enough to be able to go to college and all that shit but I feel like a complete outsider around 99% of my "peers". I don't fit in there and wouldn't be accepted by the people who's lyrics I connect to. Had a few to drink and not sure if there even is a point to this but whatever.

Makes a lot of sense to me. Let's say I have been to 100 shows in my time (I'm 35). I went by myself to 94 of them. No one I hung out with every liked the music I listened to. Also, I love the lyrics and I work in an HR department of a Fortune 60 company. I'm Mr. Corporate all week long.

No, I get what you're saying, too, like CR. I don't think the issue is college vs. no college, though I do feel a bit silly making this post. Better way of thinking about it is the haves and have nots, particularly those who have had life handed to them on a silver platter and those who have had to work for everything, regardless of their success. I've had the luxury of living in a few different countries while getting paid to study, but that doesn't change the fact that I used to be a kid who was only able to eat dinner because his parents swallowed their pride and got food stamps so they could put food on the table. Also doesn't change the fact that pretty much everyone I knew growing up ended up dead, in jail, or strung out on drugs. Or that I would've been just the same if I wasn't lucky enough to get a scholarship and get the hell out right before heroin or oxycontin, or both, took every one of them out in some capacity.
