"a televised gang leader"....nice

Dennis Mc - 5-20-2011 at 11:47 AM

The Bobby Hill comparison cracked me up.

Discipline - 5-20-2011 at 02:14 PM

Does he really spend that much time throwing people off the stage?

JawnDiablo - 5-20-2011 at 06:12 PM

so who on it this year?

random - 5-20-2011 at 07:46 PM

after losing sixteen minutes of my life to that video, i have only one question... is this a music festival or a long weekend to determine who gets to joust the black knight?

i was hoping for a pic from family guy, but it wasn't on the first page of google images results.

BDx13 - 5-20-2011 at 11:15 PM

dennis - same here.

discipline - there is NO shortage of stage diving at TIH, so i wouldn't say he throws THAT many people off. but considering it's like a 1200 person venue with no barrier that allows stage diving, you do get some serial divers and lollygaggers that may need some...encouragement to spend less time on stage.

mq74 - lineup is announced the day the tickets are available, 5/30. and it will sell out that same day.

DaveMoral - 5-21-2011 at 07:59 AM

So at 12pm EST Monday May 30th, we will announce all 4 days, all the bands. We'll have a comprehensive view of the fest's added features this year and we'll have all the tickets up for sale online via ticketfly.com

I suggest you take a look at ticketfly now if you're unfamiliar.
Don't email me and ask questions because I don't buy tickets online so I am of zero use in the help dept.

---------------------------------
A brief rundown of the 4 days ...

Thursday August 11th
@ the First Unitarian Church
2125 Chestnut Street

530 doors/6pm start

Friday/Saturday/Sunday August 12-14th
@ Starlight Ballroom
460 n. 9th Street
Philadelphia, PA
19123

We will be offering 4 day passes, Weekend (3day passes) and Single day passes.
We will also be offering presale parking for the parking lot on 9th street.
Those parking passes will be limited and also available on Ticketfly.

There will be a select amount of tickets available at AKA Music
27 N 2nd St, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - (215) 922-3855
12pm Monday May 30th.

If there are any left over tickets NOT sold at AKA on Monday, they will be cancelled and recirculated online. So Monday will be the ONLY day you can get the tickets from AKA.

----------------------

I'm very happy many people are excited to see what I've worked on.
I hope you'll be still excited once the lineup is out.

TIH 2011 will be a solid top to bottom fest day in and out. If you're looking for a super reunion fest, you'll have to go somewhere else.

I've worked very hard this year to accomodate the bands that I feel are important today and a few of yesterday's favorites are back to play and have a good time
I think the lion's share of TIH work this year went into customer (aka YOU) care.
What I've spent time working on and towards will hopefully not only encourage you to continue to support TIH but will help make your 3 or 4 day stay a more pleasant experience then in the past.

Stuff's huge man.

BDx13 - 5-30-2011 at 12:49 PM

Token Entry? SOLD.

Discipline - 5-30-2011 at 01:09 PM

Not too many bands I'd be interested in seeing this year. That being said, I think it'll be a fun weekend for those going.

barc0debaby - 5-30-2011 at 01:22 PM

I wish sound and fury's line up was this good.

M.Alki - 5-30-2011 at 02:06 PM

I will be over for this, I will actually be in the states from August 11th - November 3rd.

Six66Mike - 5-30-2011 at 04:14 PM

I'd be going for:

Reign SUpreme
H2O
Ringworm
Blacklisted
Strife
District 9
Pulling Teeth
Strength For A Reason
Stout
Madball
From Ashes Rise
Reach The Sky
Killing Time
Morning Again

tireironsaint - 5-30-2011 at 05:41 PM

There's a LOT more bands on this that I'd like to see than I would have expected, but most are bands I was really into many years ago that I only throw on occasionally for nostalgia's sake nowadays. Having said that, wasn't there some sort of statement before the line up was released about how this fest wasn't going to include any reformed bands or reunions?

Sort of...the intent was to say "don't expect things like Minor Threat, Black Flag, and the second coming of Jesus." Not necessarily that there would be no reunions.

dirtysteve - 5-30-2011 at 07:16 PM

to be fair to the s and f guys, most of these bands only have to drive a couple of hours to get to this show, and prolly dont have to miss much time/work. after a quick look, it seems like 80 percent of the bands on this bill are from boston, nyc or the east coast. s and f usually just gets one "bigger" reunion to band to fly out to the show (underdog, floorpunch, dys, etc). last year soia were on tour during the s and f. this year ringworm will be too. this fest also looks like it has a much bigger budget, i dont want to even imagine what the guarantees for this fest add up to.

stateofdisgrace - 5-31-2011 at 06:54 AM

So excited for Token Entry!

dude, then dont imagine. dont worry. dont go. dont be a dick until you do something big like this

it irks me when people ANALyze these things, like joe doesnt put any effort into it.

none the less, stoked joe helped out by getting Stout on this. been trying hard to get the boys on some fests, and the band is gonna tear it up. be therte saturday!

3rdDistrict - 5-31-2011 at 09:56 AM

also District 9?! Old Blacklisted?! Damnation?!
baltimore locals Praise, Scared Love, MINDSET

how am i being a dick? am i dissing the fest or the line up or joe? no. i am comparing the two fests, since they were compared to one another. i have no problems with bands getting paid. i also know this is a lot of work to do. i just wouldnt want to deal with the headaches of the money end of this, or any logistics of it really. if i lived nearby, i would go. if you want to see complaining, go the the b9 board.

also to the reunion thing, outside of d9, ressurection and token entry, most of these bands are not reuniting, but only play a few shows a year(underdog, kt, stout, etc).

3rdDistrict - 5-31-2011 at 11:27 AM

stout only plays a few shows a year? weird, just played with sheer terror and this month with Sand in DC and baltimore then cleveland in july (promotion!). then we're going to europe (hopefully!) this year
underdog has played 4 times in the last 2 months.

from what i understand, the singer started actually singing, and their last album had a nirvana grungy feeling

the first two records are real good, heavy, fun. I havent see blacklisted in a while, but i heard they stopped playing them.

Six66Mike - 6-1-2011 at 07:30 PM

Someone posted on their Facebook in April that they were still doing songs from Our Youth Is Wasted. I heard about recent album being more rock than hardcore but still haven't heard it, despite being one of my favourite bands. CD is still in the wrapper lol.

I thought they had a new line up or something. Jay Pepito was on guitar when they played in Canada for the first time, last time I saw them in Adelaide Tim was back on guitar.
