I'm headed to California at the end of June.
We have a semi free vacation out there.
My girl's Aunt and Uncle live in Monterrey and we will be hitting San Jose, San Fran, Monterrey and wherever else we get to.
Anyone on here been any of these places / lived there?
any recommendations of what to check out aside from the norm?

I know its the tourist thing to do, but Alcatraz is definitely worth checking out. Much of the cell block concrete and bricks are chipping off so you
can get yourself a nice souvenir. Pier 45 is legit, they have a WW2 Submarine and Liberty ship that you can run amok on. Also the coin operated
museum is around there. If you go further down on Jefferson you'll run into David Johnson aka the Busman, its always fun watching him scare people.
If you like buying sunglasses go to china town. There are a ton of good places to eat around fisherman's grotto.
Oakland pretty much sucks, don't cross the bridge.
Can't tell ya much about monterrey other than the aquarium is cool, same with San Jose, unless you want to go to the upper middle class suburb of
Campbell and wonder what the fuck Lars Fredriksen is always talking about.

I've only been to the LA area and San Diego. It's a cool place to visit. Not sure about the area that you're going too...but, I've always wanted to

& I've only been to Santa Cruz once to see GWAR for a night, but I checked out the boardwalk & went bowling....I'd really like to check out that town
again
