Is it free?

lifeisabitch - 7-20-2011 at 10:26 AM

people need to send out some invites

BDx13 - 7-20-2011 at 02:29 PM

i have the free account, which serves as a media player for my music and lets me stream anything they have on their service to my desktop (although, I think there's a time limit).

the $4.99/mo account removes ads and the time limit.

the $9.99/mo account gives you offline mode and mobile access.

also, looks like invites only come with the paid accounts.

Spotify doesn't work in Ireland, but my English friends all use it. Apparently it's the bollocks.

I have a Spotify account and still use it from time to time. I've always found it pretty good.

No idea what it is but I got an email from ASCAP today saying they approved the use of my song catalog on there so anyone that is an ASCAP member will be paid a distribution for this service.

Duane, who put your releases up there? The distributor? It's really a publishing issue to have music up on sites like this so hopefully all the bands on your labels are working with publishing houses that signed an agreement with this company or else there may be some misrepresentation of their publishing rights there. For example, I know my brother has never signed with a publisher so he controls 100% of his music and only he can authorize the use of his music on something like that where I have ASCAP represent me as a proxy. Some bands might be with BMI. Did they sign?

God, the world of rights and licensing is so goddamned complicated sometimes.
