lifeisabitch - 7-21-2011 at 10:22 AM

yeah that was really cool

Six66Mike - 7-21-2011 at 10:57 PM

I got bored after 40 seconds and couldn't be bothered waiting for the video to buffer for a band I don't like :D

BDx13 - 7-21-2011 at 11:41 PM

i've never heard that band before.
i guess, technically, i still haven;t.
anyway, the video was unique.

Six66Mike - 7-22-2011 at 12:22 AM

So there was no music? I was waiting for the music to stop which is why I gave up.

you gotta check 'em out.....some GREAT albums. Think progressive/experimental hardcore, but coming from people who were really influenced by Poison Idea & Black Flag

MikeFromInhuman - 7-22-2011 at 07:42 AM

I hear zero Poison Idea and zero BF.
I know this new record is like a "HC Opera" of sorts and that they band has been around since 2001.
I will be seeing them next Fri with the Cro Mags so I can make a better judgment then.

XnMeX - 7-22-2011 at 07:56 AM

I don't get the point of this... I am gfuessing they were trying somthing different but to me it sounds like shit and is just akward and boring.

panzerkreuzer - 7-22-2011 at 07:57 AM

mike, check out their older stuff, much more hardcore.

I've seen them 2-3 times when I was back in Canada, never got into it. Everyone kept raving about Police 7", meh.

I can survive without liking them :D Gimme Violent Minds or Criminally Insane instead.

panzerkreuzer - 7-22-2011 at 08:43 AM

i nsaw the violent minds once and was very disappointed. they were boring.
do you know avo from australia? you could like them.

vocally there's definitely a Jerry A influence I've always thought. This new album is definitely a HC Opera. Until I heard these guys, anything considered post/experimental/progressive HC was a bad word to me, usually done by people who were influenced by an entirely different kind of HC than the old stuff I like. I can't stand 90%+ of any bands these days that tout themselves as a HARDCORE band, whether it's the tough guy stuff or the tight pants stuff (OK, none of those bands). I think Fucked Up are taking it in a really great direction, & it took me a bit to open up to songs like the above video, but I gave it a chance & really like it.

If any of you can't get into 'em after these two videos, then I guess it's not your cup of tea, though

ShawnRefuse - 7-22-2011 at 11:22 AM

I like em but I have to say after 5 minutes songs drag on too much for me :)

Discipline - 7-22-2011 at 12:13 PM

They may not be for everybody, but I love the band.

Six66Mike - 7-22-2011 at 09:06 PM

That 11:47 CBC clip is just an indie band with bad vocals to me really, there's nothing punk or hardcore about it.

If they took the vocals out you'd think it was Idlewild or some other British indie band.

I like the band, but this video nearly turned me off. That chick is scary as fuck and the tape shit was just weird.

To each their own. That video blew me away.
