no shit. can we get egypt up on the motherfucker while we're at it? start by ending these wars and dealing with bush's tax cuts so we can start to get our shit together.

Ridiculous. It's interesting that you can go state to state and see the cost for each.

Listen, assholes, we're in Iraq until we get rid of the WMDs and in Afghanistan until the Taliban is no longer in power.

Oh wait, both of those things happened... and at least one happened before we invaded Iraq.

That's seriously depressing.

Who owns the companies that supply the military with clothes, food, supplies etc? Seriously question. They must be the richest people on the planet.

gav, here's one of my favorites: dick cheney was the ceo of halliburton from 1995 until he left to run as bush's vp in 2000.

Cost of war during the last 10 years: 1.2 trillion dollars.

Republican budget plans proposed cuts during the next 10 years: 4 trillion.

Seems like the perfect place to start.

It is important to note that the figure given on the site does not include normal military spending. Aside from the 1.2 trillion allocated specifically for these wars, there was another roughly 1 trillion dollars budgeted for defense related spending in 2012 alone, such as the Department of Defense, FBI, Homeland Security, International Affairs (arming other militaries) and paying interest on debt occurred during previous wars.
