Who Got The Jasta Album?

CR83 - 8-11-2011 at 10:47 PM

C'mon, fess up you. Totally kidding. I am curious who people think of the album. I haven't gotten it yet and most likely will. I know this dude takes heat but he has really seems like a good dude.

More importantly, who bought space in the thank you's on the liner notes.

^^^ Exactly.

I've had it for a couple weeks. A few good songs, but the "singing" on alot of other songs I'm not a fan of.

with the exception of the album of all covers, I've never even bought a Hatebreed album.

i know who didn't!

my girlfriend has 2 hatebreed CDs.
I checked them out
theres just something about that band that I am kind of whatever about.
An old friend of mine booked them back in the late 90s and did tell me JJ was the coolest guy back then.
As for many bands, I think they are more a parody of things than anything. Too many one liners and catch phrases for the hardcore masses in the lyrics.
Dude's voice is pretty strong though.
I thought their version of Sheer Terror's Spoiler sucked, then again most bands blow at covering the mighty ST......

I liked "Under the knife" and "Satisfaction is the death of desire".... but I really haven't heard or cared for much after that. The songs all started to sound the same to me.

MattyA - 8-14-2011 at 03:00 PM

Under the knife and satisfaction are great albums, even the album after satisfaction was good. Everything after that just didn't do it for me anymore.

Six66Mike - 8-14-2011 at 06:08 PM

Satisfaction was good but like pretty much every other band I liked back then each new album they brought out since was less exciting.

mattybar - 8-22-2011 at 12:50 PM

i think i'm one of the few people that really didn't like Satisfaction.. when it came out.
it just kinda sounded like a Machine Head record.
when i caught them live though i was surprised to discover all the songs on that album had somehow worked their way into my head subconsciously.

having a huge metal production is a huge part of that band's success i think.

under the knife is just so totally raw and sketchy sounding it's awesome.
i love the tracks they did on East Coast Assault 2 as well. i love metalcore with bad production, it just makes it sound raw as hell.

i always preferred the band Two By Four to Hatebreed.
their songs were simpler, shorter and just better in general.
Pity they never did much more than a demo and a 7".
