No mention of Burning Streets new album?

Mark Lind - 8-24-2011 at 12:29 PM

I haven't seen any announcement for the new album. Maybe I missed it. Anyway, it's on iTunes now if you don't know. I picked it up from them last night.

panzerkreuzer - 8-24-2011 at 02:07 PM

i read somewhere on facebook about it, but have no idea when, where it came out or what it is called. but i want it!

Mark Lind - 8-24-2011 at 04:30 PM

It's on Sailor's Grave. You can get it on iTunes now and it appears on the main SG site that it will be on CD in a few weeks.

I only heard one song off their last record (except when I saw them live) and this one is nothing like it. The first two songs are great. I find the vast majority of the songs to be too long as most of them exceed 4 minutes but it's a good record nonetheless. It kind of reminds me of old Dillinger 4 in some spots.

I think you nailed it. It is also very clear that Canata (you lurking?) :) had some influence.

Overall great but I did need a few listens to get into it because of the length of the songs, then again RR songs are around a minute so we have the opposite thing going on lol.

I prefer punk songs to be 2:30 - 2:45 in most cases. It's gotta be a really interesting song to hold my attention for anywhere close to 4 minutes.

i know these dates are over, but i will never get it when shows are booked like this. cleveland and akron.

BDx13 - 9-15-2011 at 11:13 AM

booking isn't always logistically logical, esp for a smaller band that's doing it DIY.

Not sure if you guys are familiar with stereokiller.com, but it's one hell of a site. Basically a DIY myspace/reverbnation. It started out as pahardcore.com years ago and has been built and maintained by one guy the entire time.

Anyway, we set up a page for Burning Streets, check it out:

BDx13 - 11-1-2011 at 03:35 PM

3.5 stars from punknews
http://www.punknews.org/review/10725

"Sit Still also seems like a slightly more mainstream-oriented effort, if only for the big-time hooks and some mellow tempos among the more orchestrated arrangements. "
