Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Black Sabbath

Jason the Magnificent - 9-16-2011 at 11:24 AM

This board is in serious lack of Sabbath talk.

I can't even imagine listening to Master of Reality when it came out and trying to wrap my head around what was going on compared to everything else in existence.

I listened to a bunch of Sabbath & then the 2 Sabbath tributes earlier this week.

Which tributes?

How perfect of a cover was After Forever for Biohazard?

mattybar - 9-16-2011 at 12:14 PM

i love Wisdom In Chains' cover of Children of the Grave.

Nativity In Black 1 & 2.

The Biohazard cover is great! Sepultura doing Symptoms of the Universe and 1000 Homo DJs doing Supernaut are 2 of my favorites and Type O Negative doing Black Sabbath is cool too.

I have some weird underground tribute that came out slightly after NIB 1, that had Cannibal Corpse w/ Chris Barnes doing Zero the Hero which was kind of awesome.

JawnDiablo - 9-16-2011 at 03:55 PM

Earache put out Masters Of Misery.

JawnDiablo - 9-16-2011 at 03:55 PM

zero the hero was on the hammer smashed face maxi single with their take on the exorcist by Possessed.....which rules.

1 - Sacred Reich - War Pigs
2 - Cadaver - Sweet Leaf
3 - Cords - Snowblind
4 - Cannibal Corpse - Zero The Hero
5 - The Clay People - Paranoid
6 - Coffin break - Hole In The Sky
7 - Exhorder - Into The Void
8 - Old - Who Are You
9 -Jesters Of Destiny - Electric Funeral

I listen to Supernaut during every workout. That song is so fucking good. Vol. 4 is amazing but nothing has anything on Paranoid. That record was the gateway for me into all heavy music. Iron Man was the hook that got me.

Rocking some Sabbath right now. Good post and I agree.

BKT.

War Pigs still speaks true today.

Jason the Magnificent - 9-17-2011 at 09:29 AM

Vol. 4 is criminally underrated.

First 4 albums and Heaven and Hell are all flawless. The rest are only just excellent...except maybe the Tony Martin stuff. Even Born Again is great with Ian Gillan...it was like getting a super rare cross pollination of Sabbath and Deep Purple...

Planet Caravan is gargbage to me. Other then that, Paranoid leaves me speechless. I saw a 1 hour show on VH1 Classic on making of the album. I was practically erect.
