new external hard drive for mac?

What is a good one that is easy to use. I don't need a 1TB or larger size, just one that is simple and dependable for a mac.

Seagate, Verbatim, Western Digital etc. What would any of you suggest as a nice HD. I wasn't happy with my Western Digital at all, but my issue was that it wouldn't load when plugged in and give an icon to click on my desktop. What makes a passport or a portable one different. Do they lack something a larger desktop one does?

I'm a fan of WD, wouldn't go near another Seagate in my lifetime.

Invest in a G Drive external hard drive. I have been using them for years and they never failed on me and there is a reason why Apple exclusively sell these external hard drives in their stores.
