Some good ones on this list, would swap out some for:

Disma - Towards the Megalith
Cianide - Gods of Death
Autopsy - Macabre Eternal
Loss - Despond
Electric Wizard - Black Masses
Bison - Dark Ages
Sargeist - Let the Devil in

Probably forgetting some stuff. Too hard to remember a year lol.

I thought about the Autopsy, but was not pumped enough on that album to put in there. It has made a lot of other sites top 10 though. I guess I am still in love with Severed Survival.

Jeez that Entrails couldn't try any harder to have Entombed's Left Hand Path as an album cover could they?

Don't know shit about metal or black metal though i find the documentaries fun to watch, since they seem to have absolutely no sense of humor and really try to be as evil looking as possible. I think the ones i saw focused on Norway and Sweden the most.

Isn't Amon Armath like white power odinist or some shit like that? That stuff didn't seem all that uncommon since there is or was a whole like national socialist black metal scene that had some prominent bands.

Feel free to correct me I don't have any strong opinions on the genre, but the subculture certainly is fun to watch from the outside. Also not trying to hijack your thread but figured you guys know way more about it than me and might like to teach the metal ignorant like me something.

Amon Amarth are not a nazi or white power band. If they were I would not be including them in any top 10 list I ever put together. They sing about vikings and norse mythology neither of which have anything to do with racism or nazism.

NSBM (National Socialist Black Metal) is complete and utter crap and like most white power and nazi bands is at the bottom of the genera as far as talent and sound.

Not all these bands are black metal. They range from death metal, rock n roll infused metal, thrash and so on. Some are from the USA and others from Europe.

Metal is a beautiful thing and the first type of music I remember feeling any passion for. I love all sorts of music, but metal is my number one. I live for it.

I'll definitely try to check out some of the stuff on the list. with metal i never really know where to start and when i pick something random the results usually aren't very good.

That toxic holocaust album is so freaking good

Out of all that stuff I would say Toxic Holocaust, Speedwolf, Chrome Division and Demonical would be the easiest to get into coming from the outside.

Toxic Holocaust has a crust punk/hardcore feel to them. Speedowolf and Chrome Division will appeal to you if you like Motorhead or any sort of dirty rock n roll. Finally, Demonical is just heavy as all fuck. Not too fast, just really crushing and brutal.

Hope you find something you like.

some others that came to mind...

Midnight - Satanic Royalty
Devil - Time to Repent
Bones - s/t
Black Tusk - Set the Dial
Speedwolf - Ride with Death
Hunters - Night Shadows
Lord Vicar - Signs of Osiris
Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats -Bloodlust
Weedeater - Jason....the Dragon

It's been a much better year for metal than anything else...my hardcore list of the year would have probably an album by Wisdom in Chains and a bunch of blank spots.

Nice call on Speedwolf. I actually made an edit and added that in there. Realized thanks to Mike from Inhuman that the Impaled Nazarene actually came out at the end of 2010 so I switched it up and put Speedowlf in there. They are so fucking good.
